Am I the only person who dislikes the wizard cut scene in the latest trailer? Does anyone know if that was done just to show off the wizard or will it happen throughout the game with every class? I really don't like it. Am I alone in this?
edit: Some of you drive me crazy sometimes. You just make these half-assed threads then disappear for the night. Cause I don't know if it was the gameplay, the actual cinematics, or whatever it was that you weren't liking about it. Does it not feel very Diablo-ish to you? What is it?
I think he dislikes the thought of seeing a wizard specific cut-scene when playing any of the classes. Personally I think their going to create a cut scene for each class.

Sorry about that.
It looks like I'm watching a Guild Wars cut scene. I'm talking about the scene where she first enters the dungeon. I can't quite figure out whatever it is I don't like about it. I guess I've grown to like the walls of text and cg cuts from the previous installments. It just doesn't feel like Diablo to me. And it's kind of ugly. I'm not talking about the game play. Just the cut scene.

The cut scene IS scripted in the gameplay engine. That's why your CGI appetites may be left wanting. I also believe that it was only meant for the Blizzcon demo, to give people a quick introduction into the class. When the game develops at a natural pace, they won't have a need for that. That, or they just didn't want to render a CGI sequence just so that they have something to play as the introduction. Because that is what they always do on Blizzcon, they play a movie before they announce something new.
I mean it was alright. It would have been nice to see the blizzard cinematics team kick in, but I am sure they are plenty busy. The thing I cared most about was the fact that they showed some gameplay. Which they did.
edit: Ya, and I agree with Kwik about the rainbow thread, but don't care enough to PM
I didn't like it either, personally. The Diablo III engine is way too weak for custscenes, but they chuck them into every 3D game for some stupid reason.
I hope we won't have many of these. But we probably will, judging from how many WCIII had.

Truth. Warcraft III had so many of those. I was like, yo these graphics suck. Just give me scripted dialouge. It wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't have characters fighting... but they did.
It is what it is. There are, and will be cut scenes.
All we can do is prey to the gods that the cut scenes wont suck balls like WoW.
Honestly tho, There wasnt anything wrong with the cut scenes in D3.
D3 = awesome + bad ass graphics
WoW = over-rated + weak ass graphics
Im hopefull, you should be too!

Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster and if you gaze into the abyss the abyss gazes into you.
We'll see plenty of good CG cut scenes. That's a given. I thought the way they handled the scene between the barbarian and Cain when they first meet in the forgotten tombs was nicely done. You had to click on Cain for the dialog to start and it looked sharp. I just don't want to be bombarded with cut scenes when I enter a random dungeon.

Personally the Wizard video is what gave me hope for the game, up to that point I was despairing over D3 being too light and WOW-ish. I guess it's all perspective.

i liked the wizard cutscene, though, just to show a little bit of the class. It was nice.

I think you're right. I hope you're right.
I still prefer the Baldur's Gate way of handling it.
Heres the cure!
Turn your brightness level down to "0"!!!
Problem solved!
Honelty I dont think it will suck bawls like WoW, I think its quite sinister looking myself.

I don't remember anyone bringing up the brightness of the game in this thread. I think some Diablo fans are suffering from post-traumatic stress.
You're right on the money.
