I never payed attention to that now that you mention it. There was a slowing factor in D2 when you wore heavier armor. I just watched a small bit of him running naked at the beginning and then when he was fighting the thousand pounder with all the armor on, I didn't see any noticeable difference.
I don't think there was a difference, if it is, that it was obviously not noticable enough.
Although I did notice when he opened that trap chest, those creatures he was fighting starting leeching at him, and he started to run slower.

I think there is no noticable effect because the character is a Barbarian afterall. Pure muscle everywhere, and someone who could wield 2 heavy swords without any reduced swinging speed.
Blizzard will probably implement more passive class abilities. The witchdoctor probably cannot wield a giant sword, and cannot wear very heavy armor, and will also have a noticable speed difference when running. That is not to say that the Barb will have a huge advantage over the other classes. Since there might be some scrolls or weapons that can only be used by those who have experience with magic. Therefore barbs cannot use them.
i hope there are more passives. Closer to op topic,I never noticed a difference in speed until that move the spirits uzed that was supposed to slow him down. I do hope the bulky equipment slows characters down a bit, but probably just because I'm always a caster wearing only cloth and bone, with the occasional gold or ornate gem.
I think I'd be all for seeing these types of affects. Maybe get rid of strength reqs on armor, but you'd be somewhat snared without the appropriate strength to carry the items or at least stamina would drain faster.
I'm sure Blizz has it figured out. I'm not worried about items and requirements or weights. I don't see them screwing over a caster class on speed to wear things.

Is it just me, or does the barbarian run slower after picking up all that armour in the gameplay vid? (please verify this first!)
If so, will there be a weight bearing factor allocated to inventory that affects stamina?
How will this affect the way the game is played?
Good or Bad thing?

Realistic?

Anyone who played a Tauren on WoW then a smaller race can vouch for that.
Uhh not sure, I think they did, didn't it just make stamina drain faster?
