a lot of people are having questions about their PC's because of the demo of diablo... It wont be like trying to run crysis.... so dont worry about that. a decent computer will run this game, may have to upgrade your cards or get more ram. What you can do if you want to build a gaming rig for cheap is this,
1. Upgrade the Ram and graphics card if you can, remeber PCI express is always the best, and fastest... AGP is ok, but always try for PCI express, figure out if your computer is AGP or PCI express slotted before going to buy a graphics card and getting mad because it wont fit or your computer wont boot right.. And ram, make sure you get the right ram. lots of people get the wrong one.... I dont recommend you open up your computer if you dont have a damn clue what your doing.. bring it to the store with you.
2. Get a bare bones kit and merge it with your current system. Bare bones is just what it means, you buy a bare bones PC, it include,
- Mother board & CPU combo ( recommend Core 2 duo or quad core )
- Ram
- graphics card ( not all the time though )
- processor
- Tower
- power supply
Barebones rarely comes with an operating system so be sure to grab one of those, you can use your same tower if the mother board fits correctly. ( keep in mind this is only for those who are familiar with building a computer or know someone that is good at this stuff ) this is a super cheap way to do it, wont run you more than $700 for a sweet ass rig.
For those who are planning to build their own computer, as I am for the release of Diablo 3, I recommend Tiger Direct. The deals that they have there are excellent and I've never had any better service from a website. DO NOT BUY PREBUILT COMPUTERS! I'm warning you now, you'll regret it when you want to upgrade in the future and you'll save a ton. Have fun, guys.
2.66GHz Quad Core CPU for under $200, seriously guys...seriously.

Just for the record, I support the current direction of the art style.
yes, i have a question in my computer options under video i have the option to turn my graphics to pci-e (pci-express) so does that mean i have a pci-express slot if i'm able to turn that on in my options? (you know when you reboot your computer and hit F2 or w/e to get to the options..)
if not.. well then can you tell me how i can find out if i have a pci-e slot.
If you really wanna do it like this way I suggest you buy the computer and use it like this untill diablo3 is released, unless you want upgrade for some other game meanwhile. Since if its gonna be like 1 year to release you will get that VC a lot cheaper or better yet some new model with same price.
But yeah 300 wats PSU might have difficulties with that VC. And it says that requirement is 400W psu but I suggest you buy at least 550 or 600W since if you later upgrade something more to the computer you won't have to buy a new psu again. Besides if your PSU doesn't run at maximum all the time I think it saves some energy and doesn't generate so much heat.
Btw i browsed that page a bit and it doesn't have very good list of different computers. I bet from somewhere else you could find a computer with a good VC already in there and the price could be cheaper overall.

Check your motherboard model and google it
Or check the motherboard manual if you have one. Or open case and check whats in there .)
I use a Pentium 4, ATI Radeon x1650, 3 GB of RAM. 2.8 GHz Processor, Hyperthreading. 400 W Power Supply. Won't be able to run D3. My family is so fuckin poor and we're probably going to lose our house, we don't have money like you rich spoiled kids or lucky adults to blow on computer parts. Only AGP system for me, lol. I won't be able to run D3 but I'll be able to run SC2.

I have 3,6 ghz P4, 1,5 gig ram and a ATI radeon X850XT, will probably run the game, it runs fine on CoD4, wow, hellgate e.t.c. and i always take down the gfx to the lowest becuz i hate even a small tendency of lagg.
well hellgate is damn heavy.. and I bet blizz can do better job with d3 engine.. so I think you are fine,.
My friend has the basic mac laptop with the intel x3100 in it, and he can run wow on low settings at playable framerates. It's a trashy integrated card, we all should be fine.

try www.compusa.com, www.frys.com www.newegg.com numerous other sites, just go to www.google.com and type in barebones kit.
3. buy a new PC.... long term investment.. will more than pay for itself.
POST your computer specs if you know them and you need some questions answered, myself or someone else will get back to you as soon as possible.
Happy hunting.

What i saw with overclocking E6600 (2.4ghz) to 3.0 ghz was only that the sound of the fan got increased, I didn't see much in performance.

All I'd have to upgrade is the PSU right?

The 8800gts 512 is a lot faster cuz it is with the new gpu core. The price was about the same or even less if i recall correctly.
Too bad nvidia is shitting us with the poor naming of their new products.

All of those scores are out of 6. It can run Hellgate London BEFORE THE PATCH on DX10 at Medium settings, and at DX9 at near full settings.
NOTE: Anyone who played HGL before Patch 1.0 knows how demannding it was.
Thiis thing can play Diablo 2:LoD at full setting at the highest resolution possible. And at uber framerates.
