I am coming back to Diablo after burning out midway through Season 5. I played a wizard in season 5, but did not like Delsere's set at all, so i burnt out trying to make it work for me. Coming back, and not being at all up to date with the changes, I was looking for some advice for this season.
My three options are Wizard (as long as Delsere's is not king), Barbarian or Demon Hunter. I will be playing with 2-3 other players, so I want to be able to keep up as we move along (not an underpowered class) and still be able to play solo when they are not around. It would be great if the GR gear, T10 farming gear and solo gear/build for the class was relatively the same for all 3 (Wizard required separate builds for each use when I quit).
While I'm not hoping to push really high GR, I want to be able to be competitive, but I don't want a play style that is not fun. I didn't like Delsere's because you were complete crap outside of bubble, while most other classes didn't have to rely on a specific thing to make them viable. I didn't like the mobility or the speed of the build. I'd rather not be restrained to being powerful to a small area or quick burst, but rather have it be sustained.
Any suggestions would be great as I do not want to pick a class again that will cause me to burn out and quit the game this season.
Wastes, Might, Raekor, and LoN are all viable with barbs, they also offer a unique play style with each build (leap, spin, charge, and hack) so that is really nice.
Have not played much Wizard, just not my play style.
DH is fun, I love UE for farming, and Marauder seems like it will be a solid set, but for me personally, it gets old. But each person has their own unique feature that leads to a burnout, so you need to identify what that feature is for you. Is it playing the same class over and over, the same build, or maybe even just playing too much too soon. We are all unique in that regard, so find out what causes your burnout, and then make an appropriate decision.
Well delsere will be the worst set for wizard ao you wont need to qorry about it
We will be running archin with firebirds set so if you like that gameplay style , e are in a good poaition.
I will be gearing a wd aswell, farming t10 with chicken build is reqlly fun ^^
This makes me kind of mad. Wizard is my favorite class in the game and I've already played it for at least 2 seasons so far, and when they actually make it super strong and fun I'm over it :\ I hated DMO in s5. What terrible gameplay it had. I'm specifically making a non-Wizard in s6 just for variety.
+1 DH. For me, season 6 will be heavy on DH and I will likely play a good bit of WD helltooth gargs and a few sader builds I want to play more of..
They really need to bring WW barb back up to speed. Should be one of the best speed farm builds in the game if nothing else.
OT: I really hope they sneak a few more conquests into season 6 before it goes live. Playing through Guardian on the PTR... there just wasn't much to do.
Farm some pets, level some gems, and you're pretty much done.

Pretty sure a Del Twister Wizz will be part of the meta next season...group play. I like all things Wizz so now they don't suck I'll continue playing one mainly.

"Age and treachery will always defeat youthfulness and zeal..."
I'm trying to decide between barb, wiz, dh, and monk myself, but I'm very tempted to play dh. I started a dh for Season 5 after being persuaded of the early season farming benefits of the Shadow set by Drahque, and that turned out pretty well--stash tab, dragon wings, guardian, and all. So at least I'm familiar with the class.
But more than that, I'm trying to make my decision based on the following factors:
1) How well does the free set work as a low Paragon character without the full complement of supporting legendaries? Some sets are fairly good with just the 6pc bonus, and the full build just makes it that much better. Other sets might feel noticeably weaker or less smooth to play until you have at least 3-4 legendaries to synergize with the primary playstyle, reduce cooldowns, etc.
2) How good is the farming potential of the free set? That's the only set you are guaranteed to get, and you might be stuck with it for a while as you gain Paragon levels, complete your build, and look for other set pieces. Is it a set you can comfortably and relatively efficiently farm with during the initial hours or days of seasonal play?
3) What is the set dungeon like for that armor? Is it easy to solo? What about for the class in general? If you want the stash tab, you are going to have to master a set dungeon. The odds are that you will eventually be able to find help to clear one, but it doesn't hurt to pick a dungeon that you know you can solo without too much trouble if you had too. If the free set's dungeon is one of the difficult ones (sorry S6 wizards), is there at least one set in that class with a dungeon you can handle?
4) What does the high end potential look like? What build or builds will you likely be using with this class to push higher GRs?
From the looks of the PTR so far, the DH class gets some numbers moved around for S6, providing quantitative buffs here and there, but no real qualitative changes to the playstyles. Unless some new build comes out of nowhere, it looks like the S6 builds will be minor variations of S5 builds. And Taeguk will be replaced with something else (Stricken? Powerful?), but let's be honest: that's a good thing--Taeguk was annoying to play in DH builds and never really intended to be used in that manner.
i) Marauder will be missing some toughness until you get the belt, and your offense will be suboptimal without the right bow/quiver combo, but it is a solid set with very high endgame potential. Additionally, it is a flexible set in terms of weapon requirements. When you get a Manticore/Bombadier's Rucksack, you have your Cluster Arrow build, but if you happen to find a Yang's/Deadman's Legacy first, you can also turn it into a Multshot build in the meantime.
ii) Ok, Marauder is not the best farming set for DH. For that, you want to try to find the Unhallowed Essence set as soon as you can. But until then, it isn't a bad set. It's just geared more toward power than speed. Multishot might make it a decent farming set.
iii) I found the Marauder's set dungeon to be one of the easier ones, and I got the dragon wings, so I kinda have an idea about which set dungeons are worth looking at for the stash tab and which ones were designed by Tathamet himself. The only really frustrating thing was those rock worms, and in this new patch, they now spawn only in fixed locations and with a slightly longer visual delay. If that doesn't work, then Natalya's is fairly easy with the right gear, and the Shadow set shouldn't be too bad once your damage gets high enough. (I mastered Shadow set solo somewhere around P400 in S5). The only frustrating one was UE and grouping those spiders together, but if you just want the stash tab, you only have to master one.
iv) In S5, Marauders was the best non-LoN build for pushing higher GRs. UE was a fantastic farming build for TX, and it could go to higher GRs as well, but ultimately Marauders brought more survivability and better single target damage potential that made it surpass UE above a certain point. Yes, there's a Shi Mizu LoN build out there that, with a skilled player, probably outclasses every other DH build. However, if all you want is a stash tab, you'll probably have that well before you have a completed and well-tuned LoN build.
Finally, each of the set armors for DH bring something useful to the season journey to the table.
Natalya's gives you an easy set dungeon to master
UE gives you a good speed farming build for clearing TX rifts quickly
Marauders gives you a solid GR pushing build.
Shadow gives you a high single-target damage build and good mobility (with the vault belt) which might come in handy for the boss rush conquest.
So in closing, I don't know how well DH will stack up in the season 6 leaderboard race or the meta, but on paper, it looks like it offers a very viable path through the season journey. I wish I could offer the same kind of analysis for the other classes, but I only played most of the other classes enough to gear up for the set dungeons, and only after my DH was built up enough to do a lot of their gearing through blood shards.
Instead of just trying to create a new topic I guess I will ask here.
I plan on playing mostly solo with a few pick PUGs when I can. I usually get 1-2 hours a day.
I would perfer to play a Barb, Witch Doc, or DH.
I have not kept up with PTR much so based on all the changes, what class would be good to play that requires the least amount effort (aka least complicated item/gear setup as well as not too dificult to play; im not a fan of trying to constantly snapshot damage based on the buffs) to most likely be able to get at least the free stash tab by the end of the season (assuming a little luck to get some items)

Thanks,
Demon Hunter. I've played DH every season thus far. Still not burned out.
For me the answer is barb due to build variety.
