Sure, it fit the style of what was going on. You had a healer, a Merc person, a gambler, an armorer/black smith, Cain, and 2-4 other characters for idle banter (maybe a quest) and means of moving the story (Warriv etc)
So in that right it fit.
I think I would like some expansion of the towns, MAYBE something similar to Baldur's Gate:SOA. And with all the questing that's supposed to happen, this could only help. -shrug-
As for dungeons, did anyone like the wide open fields like in D2 or would you rather crawl, deeper and deeper into something.
Remember, at most, dungeons in D2 had 4 levels.
Maybe a mixture of both? Maybe a constant change of above ground/underground.
How about the optional "dungeons" in D2 where you'd find a little treasure chest at the end. Did you like those? Would you like to see more?
I'm sure that towns are going to be bigger, and if we get to go to Caldeum, it will probably be a big metropolis. i think the are going to add side areas with side quest and stuff, and hopefully they will have huge dungeons with 20+floors, that would be pretty could.

But do you think at the expense of bigger towns/multi-level dungeons, that you'll lose a lot of that open area exploring?
I'd have to agree, if I spent hours and hours couped inside one massive dungeon, albeit in depth would get rather dull. Unless it's clearly optional to hit the bottom floor but being forced through 20 levels of the same architecture to me isn't that appealing.
naw, big town+big dungeons=big open areas lol is simple calculus...
Well I'd see a dungeon as more smaller areas (by smaller I mean, smaller than the giant wide open spaces (above ground)) that had multi-levels.
So I mean if you want to see it as the same thing, (which it technically is) then yes, you're right. But I'm trying to look at it a little differently. Kind of like the further you go down, new stuff happens, new areas may open, etc.
we will probably be able to go down there since Tristram is infested with demons and the such, maybe some kind of side quest to get godly gear lol, maybe you have to go where you fought diablo for the first time, that would be so badass with a remix of the old song from diablo 1

Oh no, I'd think they'd change the further you went down.
Different enemies, more ancient looking, center of the earth/hell type feel, etc.
There also might be a quest item at the very bottom
I'd still do it even if it had no change, but if it was a change like d1 as you progress it changes, I would definitely be even more so interested in doing so. Variation is the key to success in longer more depth based dungeons.

No, I meant nicely designed dungeons without a light radius. I don't care where it is. If I am forced to go through more than 4 DII dungeons again I am quitting.
I like the idea of having a large city to roam in. What I really want is more of a purpose to explore a dungeon. I think it would be cool if only certain items could be found in certain dungeons or there were stronger monsters down in the dungeons. In Diablo 2, the dungeons weren't that much fun to explore, and there was little purpose for going into them.
Big cities are only practical if you have people to fill them with. Multiple useless npcs are well, useless, and as the game is gonna be 4-6 players, I highly doubt there is use for anything bigger than Lut Gholein (sp?).

More interactive NPCs means they'll probably have more quests, I know I heard something about class specific side quests...(super exciting!) and that most likely means more NPCs to give those quests yea? So bigger cities, or at least one gigantor city would be reasonable (and pretty damn cool I think.)
You know what would be really cool? Say like a tower that is infested with evil's minions, and you have to clear it out a la Act II sewers but actually kill everything a la Den of Evil, but then after you complete the quest, NPCs are chillin' out there. Not ground breaking, but kinda neat.
As for dungeons, I don't need them any deeper. As someone who REALLY gets into games, I start feeling claustrophobic at level 3. Plus, say you go RIP on level 6 and you didn't have the smarts to find the way point (or D3 equivalent) that would suxxor

lol. 6 if you want to get real technical
But yes, it was. I didn't think about this. (Though those levels are fairly small (in normal mode (in hell mode they get much bigger))

More NPCs, more quests, more stuff to do IN the cities...just more interaction with stuff over all.
