The new drop system is set up so that the monsters will drop several items specific to each person in the game. That means no one else can pick up the items that you see. Does anyone else think that is annoying (If you want to give some one you are rushing an item you have to pick it up and then drop it.) or possibly less fun (no more racing to pick up the item first)?
Maybe everyone will be forced to make a mf character instead of just leeching of another characters runs.
So far, Blizzard has made it clear that Diablo III will be targetted at grandma's. Drops will no longer take skill and be void of excitment. My grandma is really excited. She says she'll play after Jeopardy.

Let's see if I can't get mine to play!

Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.
It's an interesting idea, and does eliminate a lot of problems, but it also makes it more annoying to share. However, I think most people will be cool about it. Great potential.
Plus I bet that super rare awesome items will not follow those rules, and will instead be distributed based on the rules you have set for your party (like many MMOs use). So either a master looter takes it, or it is rolled for, or whatever.
But if you cannot see the master items that are dropped for someone else how does one know they exist?
Well, when people use the master looter system it's usually with people they know, 'cause if that's the case then they cannot see it in other games either. You use that system with people you trust.
Rolling or need/greed like WoW are for more casual groups with random people, such might be the case here too.

In Diablo III it is said you will not.
