Anyone who says Enigma should get a hard slap across the face
Iono about Anni and Torches ,they dont really fit into the story. But id like to see Gheeds Grand charm stay on
And a few other things like LarryNC said, items which fit into the story OR have been in both Diablo 1 + 2

I'm sure they can easily come up with equally powerful items without using the same name. I think only lore-related items would be good to make appearances, or else it gets repetitive.
I don't even play as rangers, so I really shouldn't care, but that was just the first thing to pop in my head.
Yeah, I can't think of anything else lol.
okay, so its not really a returning item, but still.
Lol. I want to see Griswold's Edge Broad Sword. It was my first unique in Diablo 2 and I loved it. Plus it's a throw back to Griswold's heroism in Diablo 1.
And maybe "Wirts Other Leg" or "Wirts Third Leg"... Lol?...

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
i would like to see items from lore wise stuff. like some of you already said. like npc name wepons.
yes bring back the rags. i would like to see how they wouldve looked in diablo 2. lol just a paly in a tee shirt. lol
one thing i didnt like is wasnt the 2 swords(one made in heaven and one in hell) one like azurewrath. and i think that for heaven. and the other one...damn cant remember the name. but i would like to see those wepons stronger. because heaven and hell have major power and abbilities. so why was there weapons so lame?
aura- those were cool. when you comlete a set. you looked like a god. lol. bring those back and have more veriation on them. maybe if you wear a set peices from heaven you would have a white aura and an ethereal tendrils or something. and maybe there is one for hell too. *cough warlord of blood cough* lol. and maybe you could have a black aura and maybe have less chance of demons hitting you or something.
I would like it if certain unique items paired together give bonuses, sort of like set items. These certain unique items would be really powerful but extremely rare, and hard to find.
Another thing I'd like is if you could fully equip your Merc (ie. rings, amulets, boots etc..). Understandably, they'd have to make the enemies more powerful to compensate for you and your merc's abilities but I think that it would be a cool addition.
Also, make it nicely balanced so that you could pick any character and build any type with it, be it for magic find, or other. One thing that I found annoying in D2 is that you would have to go with a certain character if you wanted it for a specific task; magic find, rushing... (ie. All the Sorc's & Paladin's that run around). Why not make it so that every character can be made into a character for any specific taks. Its not that hard really, just make items for all characters that fit any specific type of character that the user wants to build..
Other than that, make the stash much much bigger, make much much more rune words, make much much more items, and much much more quests.
That about covers it for me. : )

Lace me with the words of destruction and I'll explode, but supply me with the will to survive and watch the world grow.
I agree - would be awesome to fit a merc with alot more items - would also be cool to hire more than one merc for the classes that don't do as well solo (examples would be the bonecaster for necromancers, and some sorcs, and maybe some undergeared characters like barbarians.. maybe each merc could take a little bit of exp per kill away since they are helping you also.

theres some good stuff there, but to elaborate, i say there should be different levels of set items, like normal, rare and unique set items. or maybe that would just get too confusing.

But there are normal, rare, and exceptional levels for unique items, so why not set items?

Teleport.. Battleorders.. Chilling armor to name a few? It waters down the game.
