May be possible for an announcement. Though you are not certain if it is D3 or not. Please do not title this thread "Diablo 3 To be Announced: Saturday, 5:30 PM in Arena" when you dont know if it is Diablo 3. I am not trying to dog you and if i did i am sorry. It is just that this community has been stirred up soo many times before and have created alot of problems between fellow members.
It is nice to see that you are making every attempt to find holes and facts about a possible D3 from Blizz. Finding that hole in the schedule shows that you are very detailed and have your heart set on D3. Very good.

Thasador: You are correct. I am uncertain the game announced will be Diablo 3. Though the buzz in the air and forums suggest it highly likely be Diablo 3, I lack guaranteed knowledge; therefore, I have renamed the thread per your valid request.
Diablo 3 or a new game - either announcement will treat us well. When has Blizzard released an undervalued product?
The 5:30PM slot is the most logical spot for new product introduction. It precedes the weekend Blizzcon celebration concert and closes the weekend on highest note.
From marketing standpoint this strategy would lead to perfect advertising execution.
hmmm. if it is a new game dont you think they would make it kinda like diablo, or make it so that it appeals to people that like diablo. we've been waiting too long.
I don't see them waiting until the last few hours of the event to announce a game. They didn't do it for SC2, why would they do it for D3? My guess is that it will be Starcraft: Ghost. D3 was hyped, but it won't be announced.
It's just like 2005. Everyone thought they would announce a WOW expansion and D3, only to announce only the expansion. D3 won't be in our hands until atleast 2009, more likely 2010.
im gonna agree i hate to sound down in the dumps but im pretty sure its not gonna happen until next blizzcon 09 i just now understand why most the devlopers left.
can't be sc:ghost, i thought blizzard made that clear.
Lets stop hoping. I was really hyped, and i was pretty confident in d3 being announced during blizzcon. But, even though its not over yet, i'd rather look at it from a realistic point of view. Thats not gonna happen.
they also said the announcment wasn't going to be a WoW:Exp. But hey, during the announcments guess what? WoW:Wrath of the Lich King. Go figure...:(
"Frank Pierce has just announced the next expansion:
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
- Level 80 cap
- Northrend
- You can kill Arthas
- New battlegrounds
- Inscription profession
- Siege weapons
- Death Knight Hero class"
it just doesnt make sense why they would push expansions down the pipe lines so fast thats what happend to SWG and it fell apart i really hope WoW falls apart then they might talk about D3

Starcraft: Ghost's patent is dead. It's not coming out anytime soon, if at all. I don't necessarily hate Blizzard, but it sucks every time we see a new WOW game come out, and have to wait yet another year for Diablo 3. Heck, we get starved on just patches/new content for D2!
It would be nice if Blizzard even made a new franchise for the console gamers. Today's consoles (PS3, Xbox 360) have hard drives and plenty of ram/video memory to run anything they make quite well. And, both consoles have an online system for new content and patch delivery. I'd even be for a port of Diablo 2 to the Wii. I'd love to pwn some people with the Wiimote and nunchuck.
SWG has never had the amount of accounts that WOW currently has. Blizzard said they would be releasing a new expansion for the game every year. $50 per person who buys it, plus that $13 a month means big money. It's all about the money.

I know. And as much of a cliche that it is to say this, I will anyhow:
Blizzard made their money from the other "free" franchises. Then they make a "pay" game, and take a shit on the rest of us. I've tried to play World of Warcraft, but I found it to be too repetative, and addictive to the point of being unhealthy. At least the other franchises that Blizzard has allows the player to not get hooked so easily. It's like Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft are the "free hit", and WOW is the "crack".

SC:Ghost has not been offically cancelled. I never said it was coming out soon, but it still has the potential to be released.
The thing Blizzard knows is that no matter how long they take to release the next in a series, people will still buy it (unless it bombs in beta). The thing that they don't understand is that most every other developer releases game much more quickly than they do. If they don't start moving more quickly on titles, paying more developers, they will lose their grasp on certain genres.

Does this mean this is the big announcment blizz had everyone waiting for... the one they PROMISED wasn't going to be a WoW:Expansion?
