though i think a few more of the big beasties from the first came could be brought back, esp the Black Knights, Succubus, lightning chuckers, lava chuckers, gargoyles, and a few others ive forgotten but were awesome looking.
yes i cant stand those F ing jumping guys, and those damn birds, the barb should be able to leap at them and if you have a bow why cant you hit them.
the bug brute guys act 1/2, the big demons that use inferno, the knights, the lightning beasts in act 1/4, blunderbore, all forms of undead, the overloads (guys with whips) from D2/lod should all make a return
oh crap i miss read select TWO!!! monsters,
ok no jumping guys, bring back the big ass demons. (you have already said fallen)

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
No big deal, just as long as people have some opinions.
kill the dolls in act 3 and 5... the onlything that scratches my barb
bring back burning souls... gota love watching everyone get owned by them
I share your feelings. What a wakeup-call that was the first time I encountered them in Act 3.
And the Burning Souls, well, I'm one of those who got owned by them

every one seems to be getting owned by the burning souls, am i one of the few people who werent? they did give me a spot of trouble on Hell difficulty but that was to be expected, it is after all Hell.
gotta have these guys, I actually find them to be very good opponents, we have to have some bad guys that are hard to defeat wouldnt be any fun if it was easy.

about the souls... i went down the wp for a baalrun with my hammerdin for battle orders (hardcore), the sorc that would teleport down came with me. a group of souls just sent 1 lightning each. I didnt get scratched. Sorc and Barb got pwned
I'd really want the Horned Demons from Diablo 1 back. Walking around and getting charged like they used to charge? i just had to be concentrated to hear their sound before they charged. Loved that.
I also hate (and thats the main reason i want them back) these doglike creatures from Diablo 1 that used to spit acid (and also make small lakes of acid when slain). Whole packs of the, were devastating!
almost forgot! The knights (these that looked like Lachdanan) from Diablo 1 that we met at hell! Not too hard to defeat but very nice to fight anyway
I want most of the Diablo 1 monsters back, to be honest. Overlords, Blinks, Mages etc.
To be honest, I have never come close to 6.5k Life. And that I think is a major point as to why they are hard. True, once you've faced down some of them you learn how to beat them, but unless your on your guard, the can blast me off completely.

to be honest, whatever i find hard and finally hate, i want it to stay. Makes you feel really good after you kill it. (Just as it happened after i killed a troll in Gothic 3 yesterday :P)

The mages in act 4 that always cast iron maiden on me. Even when i go back a difficulty with my pally and just go have fun, i sometimes get owned because i go and hit them right when they cast iron maiden.
I would like to see the death or blood lords from act 5, be in D3. They really define a great looking monster.

Those before me shall quiver in my wake as I unleash the fury within!
The swamp frogs in act III need to go. I see no point of them being in the game. Yeah, they might of been corrupted in the storyline, but a frog, come on Blizzard. More creativity please. Those little flayers need to go to on a side note. The fallen and the black knights are cool, they can stay.

For the sake of SICK and the glory of Lord Silver.
Those whom have taken in the wicked, shall be punished by thy Lord.
Those whom have trechered into the dark, shall be smited by thy Light.
I think the Fallen are pretty much the signature of the Diablo franchise, so I would imagine they are bound to return. I hated all the bugs in the game (maggots, swarms, beetles). They were just not what I expect Hell to produce, or Sanctuary to host.
Yeah the bugs don't really make sense at all, while the Megademons are the emobidiment of a real demon in my view. They could be made a lot more powerful though.
Oblivion Knights are great, they shoul definately stay, few monsters force you to pay such close attention to what they do.
Leapers seem to be a common moster to dislike, and Imps in Act 5 fill the same pupose, teleporting around, but they at least die from one hit.

I would like to keep the Fallen. Just running our like fresh adventurer and see all of them fall dead by one blow feels fantastic.
The monster I would remove would be the Leapers from Act 2. They just jump around and refuse to die.
Feel free to include monsters from D1 that you think should make a reappearance.
