I was going through the recordings in the quest log, and listened to the spech from izual, after u kill him, he says
"Tyreal was a fool to have trusted me!
You see, it was i who told Diablo and his Brothers about the Soulstones and how to corrupt them. It was i who helped the Prime Evils mastermind their own exile to your world.
The plan we set in motion long ago cannot be stopped by any mortal agency. Hell, itself, is poised to spill forth into your world like a tidal wave of blood and nightmares.
You and all your kind... are doomed."
Just thought this could also be something towards d3, it sounds like hell floods the mortal world. Which points to the fact of maybe a heaven vs hell type of game.
we kinda already know this but your thinking and i like that

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
that seems more like it, bad guys anyway say things a long the line of x plan cannot be stopped but it often ends up being stopped, with little effort by the good guy or guys.
still if you can be evil in d3 and fight for the prime evils, and i am kinda hoping you can, once you finish the game wouldnt you have seen said plan being completed? so technically Izual would have been right.

wait a tick, He said Hell is poised to spill forth, Diablo, Mephisto and Baal during the games werent aligned with Hell. Belial and Azmodan rule hell. they have large armies, all be they smaller than they were before the prime evils were banished to the mortal realm.
Belials and Azmodans armies spilling forth in the mortal realm, prehaps Izual spoke of this, He was a fallen angel which neither Hell nor Heaven would take. prehaps he had sided with Belial and Azmodan.
hmm i seem to be rambling, (borderline non sensical)

if hell or heaven wouldent take him and Belial and Azmodan are the rulers of hell, then how could Izual side with them??

Angus the peasant saw the necromancer raising the rotting remains and ran away. Since then he told the tale of how he narrowly escaped the necromancer he called "juicy bones".
