Speaking of battle damage though, and I don't think this came across in the gameplay video or any of the screenshots as of yet, but when an enemy dies a critical death it actually drenches your hero in blood if you're within proximity of the spray. It's awesome.
I think this would be one of the most awesome things ever. Just imagine just completely obliterating a zombie into a thousand pieces with a finishing blow. Then having zombie "debris" fly all around, and mainly onto you.

Everyone seems to ignore things like this when they say the graphics aren't dark enough.

NOOOOO!!!! LEVE MA ARMA ALOOOOOONNNNNEEEEE!!!!! Lol
if builds revolve around crits like the hunter in hg:l then there will be enough blood to keep you coated for most of the game. I'd prefer it if it stuck until you unequipped the tainted armor though
If some little pieces of the monsters, and blood would partialy stay on the ground -and even walls !!!- it would be awesome, but it disappears after a few seconds as if nothing would have been happened.
But the armor of the barb still has to be smaller.
The great prophet Bashiok has told us why corpses don't stay. You have to remember low-end computers.
I still don't understand why the armor has to be smaller. Is it because of realism? Is it too spikey? Did large armor do you bodily harm as an infant?
I don't see why Blizzard can't draw inpiration from thier own games.

would add a lot to have dirty/blood weapons and armors which you could clean in towns. they said they wanted to make the game with "over the top" characters, weapons and armor, which to me is kind of silly
Yeah, I want poo covered swords and plain looking charaters will little to no personality at all.
Yes, he's told us why. That doesn't mean we have to be happy about it. The choice between almost instantly disappearing corpses and "realistic" corpse physics should be obvious; If you can't do it properly, don't do it at all.
At the very least, there should be an option for those of us that don't have low-end computers. And maybe there will be.
I agree with the option. But if there are classes that use corpses then it becomes a whole different story.
Because it looks absolutely ridiculous. There's not really any other rationale. It's as simple as that. Huge, oversized, bulky, animeesque armor looks absolutely ludicrously ridiculously silly.
Good design is in the eye of the beholder. I find huge, oversized, rediculously silly, bulky armor to my liking.

People who complain about the art direction have no concept of the difference between Cartoony and Stylized. If people are making fun of there being rainbows and bunnies and "too much beauty" in the game, then blood splashing on to their character must let them know that the game has been taken in a darker direction than they gave Blizz credit for.
