Obviously it's very preliminary and I was experimenting in a very rough way. It will depend on the skills and how they interact with the set bonus and if Valthuk's Rebuke is revamped into something worthwhile. Anyway, what did you guys think?
It's an alternative for Firebird's.. Will probably be better at easier content and groups, but when you get to high GR's the dot of the Firebird's is still way superior to this.
Though it's all still in development and there will be more items that might make Firebird's less of a requirement for those high GR's. Not that am complaining, this seems pretty sweet at least at first glance.

Came to the same conclusion. Damage potential may even be higher then Firebird's if Valthek's adds like the Wicked Wind rune to Energy twister. Then you could use Raging Storm or Gale Force or something. That would make the damage potential higher then Firebird's, but you'd be squishy as hell.

IDK, the numbers are there. 1250% per sec, plus 5x the normal damage on ET / AO and MM. I think the set could beat firebirds. Especially at single target

I don't think so - at least solo. This set requires you to stand shock still to use Energy Twister. It's a recipe for suicide, even presumably with all the stuns. The damage potential SHOULD be higher if you can stand still and cast though - meaning it'll rock in groups, as long as they get the numbers right.
Probably will be a bit less in solo than Firebirds, but I could see this working better than the current group fb that uses disintegrate. Going to be curious how the bubble that mirror image clones drop interacts with bubbles the player drops... if they can all stack, will be some nasty damage (even at the greatly reduced damage amount).

That is entirely dependent on the raw damage of the skills it supports, and any changes made to them.
If enemies require actual time to kill there's a good chance that the the new set could outperform firebird's purely because of the raw damage of the supported skills.

And that is my hope, just the uptime we are going to get on high GR levels would mean that the set has to be a lot better damage wise than Firebird's. And atm it's looking to be somewhat comparable.
This set looks awesome but it looks like it will make my Rimeheart useless. Close to 10,000% Damage or more per sec totally blows the sword proc out of the water.
Any ideas what a Cold version of this could look like?
All i know is that this new set gives me reason to dust off my mirror ball, which makes me happy!
Why on earth would you use Mirrorball, or any signature skill, when Energy Twister clocks in at 1500% weapon damage? It's the highest DPS spell in the wizard arsenal.

idk, ET is pretty inconsistent AND its dmg over time ... before fire bird I was using MM conflag with mirrorball + fire ET, a major part of my dmg came from MM
Another important item to the builds that have been mentioned here is the newly annouced Ranslor's Folly.
This item seems to leave you with having your twisters cast a Cyclone Strike - Imposion on a reguilar basis, combining this with Wicked Wind will leave you with twisters that act as cc spots, and you can just pop your bubble on top of the twister. The movement speed recudtion of 80% from the bubble in combination with the stun when mobs enters and exits your bubble will effectively lock everything inside it untill it dies. Dependant on the diminishing returns of the pull from Ranslor's Folly, it seems that nothing or no one will be able to escape your bubbles :).
I am really exited for this set, even if it might not be able compete at a solo level of the firebirds, it will definetively be a fun and good support for group play. It is almost like having a zdps monk/wd at your wicked wind spot without all the stuns.

The way the wording on that item is written, it seems that it will only pull in one mob per proc. It also seems to suggest that it can only proc once every 5 seconds, unless the cooldown is per mob. If that's the case, even spamming ET won't offer a great deal in CC. It'd help, to be sure, but I don't see it being required for an ET Opus build. Certainly not as required as the Crown of Primus will be for this set.
As for the set itself, I've never been a fan of Slow Time, but I think this set and the Crown might offer up some really interesting gameplay. It'll certainly beat FB's amazingly boring play style.
I'll probably end up using a Glacial Spike / Frozen Orb build with this set with a Winter Flurry source. Just because it might finally make Frozen Orb decent again.
On the PTR, Ranslors Folly is apparently using Spell proc chance to pull in mobs; plus you can't use Strongarms with them. Two thumbs way, way down. Useless Legendary at this point. Typical of the Wizard legendaries.
If we aren't bound to Wicked Wind to use Ranslors, we might be able to run an EE/Cold Blooded build like http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#V.gSjO!XWRS!a..bYc if we could sustain Mistral Breeze, which I think we could come pretty close to doing.

And may the odds be ever in your favour.
