Hydra is easily the most boring build and requires the staff to have two hydras. Why did Blizzard nerf Channeling moves and buf Hydra...Screw Hydra, it's so bad it's pathetic. Wizards are taking slap after slap with these updates...Whatever time to move on to an actually good toon.
No, it's terrible just another thing you have to lay down and wait for it to kill something which takes way to long, it isn't a fun build at all. Why don't all of you quit fanboying all the shitting buffs and say something constructive. I want a build that involves our Fire Birds set. Not a wizard pet build.....

Please be more careful with your choice of words. Fanboying? I'm not a Hydra fan at all but this change made me happy for two reasons:
1) Hydra is one of the very few spells we have that allows us to deal damage while moving. Almost all other currently used spells except for EB (MM, Archon, AT, Disingetrate, RoF) require you to stand and channel something. And "stand still" oftentimes means "death" on greater rifts 35+.
2) Finally there is another weapon that we can use besides Wand of Woh. There is a silver lining on the horizon that the weapon slot might not stay a one-way street.
Is Hydra the answer to all our wizard problems? Hell, no. Is this change nice? Absolutely, yes. You will not be forced into using Hydra, and none of us is saying that the Hydra change solves our problems, but your post assumes that the entire wizard playerbase hates this spell and this is just not true. Move on to your spec/class but don't insult those who are happy about their spec being buffed.

Blizz have already confirmed that there will be more changes to Firebird's set in future PTR builds.

Wand of Woh is kind of over-hyped/overrated anyway. As you go up in difficulty, it becomes increasingly less powerful simply because going toe-to-toe with mobs is less desirable. Being that Greater Rifts are time-based, the importance of minimizing deaths and maximizing damage is tenfold. Thunderfury is still our best weapon choice, but I'd rather run with Serpent Sparker toward end game over WoW. I guess my question would be... are the changes to Hydra good enough to warrant it being on par or better than Thunderfury?
That said, if someone wants to bitch about something, how about the completely PITIFUL damage of lightning specs? If anything deserves a buff, that does.
I read somewhere recently that Blazing Hydra really isn't bad compared to Mammoth... over time the damage seems to ramp up and exceed Mammoth on a champion/elite target.
Is this info incorrect? Besides the flat damage Mammoth does do we also have tests on its damage compared to blazing over a larger fight?

Did you ever think about the possibility, that there are people, that do not like a hasty build, where you have to manage many cooldowns, cast and move permanently. These people play a certain build, because they like a skill, even if it is not the most effective build. They play for fun. This does not mean, that people, that want to maximize their effectiveness do not have fun, but please accept, that there are other playstyles also. Bringing Hydra back to a much needed state is good design decision. Instead of criticizing the buff to hydra, you should try to convince people and/or blizzard, that other skills need a buff or change also.
Just a few examples:
I hate Elemental Exposure. I do not want to cast differrent damaging spells to get a benefit for some seconds.
I hate combination strike (monk passive), same concept as elemental exposure,
and so on, but I can understand, that people use these skills, because they might help to maximize their damage.
You probably won't have to worry about Elemental Exposure if they nerf channeling spells....you know...because Wizards are so overpowered.

PS: Serpent's Sparker is a wand not a staff.

The five rules of playing a Drood?
Dodge, Dip, Dive, Duck and... Dodge
