So you agree that the patch could hit and after that we'll have beta for a 2 month release after the patch 2.0, right? Which means that what you say abot closed beta this year would mean that ptr for patch 2.0 should hit... dunno, tomorrow?
All Blizzard Beta tests for all games have so far been approximately 6 months. The pre-expansion and expansion Betas are likely going to be the same thing, with the pre-expansion patch coming out slightly before the expansion, as it has happened with all WoW expansions, for example.
I attended Blizzcon for the first (and last time) this year and one the small gameplay features they showcased during the gameplay systems presentation was a random 'other-worldly creature that would spawn in the world. Atop it's head was a Nephalem rift, presenting itself as the guardian of it. When you killed him, the rift would activate and you could enter it! I don't know why, but that small random detail was one of the highlights for me. I hope that stays in
look, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, we both obviously think differently of Blizzard, I'll stick to my guns for a patch 2.0 next year in march-april followed by Ros in Q2, and that's wishful thinking.
'Course, it would be nice if I would get a PM from you saying gosh preacher, you were right
I'm just going off how they've done things in the past, every time it's the same pattern.
The game has also been in a company-wide testing phase for 2 months already, and the next step after that is always closed beta.
Keep in mind that vanilla beta saw major additions, removals and overhauls. Blizzard can definitely release a beta with some kinks to be ironed out.
It's likely that we will get something similar to the Blizzcon build. The Build that Robby's datamine thread discusses has the crusader disabled and sounds like a near PTR build.
Definitely can't wait to build a Frozen Orb Wizard (my favourite D2 skill).
Ill be wearing items with +%cold damage (frostburns etc) and getting resource cost reduction instead of usual trifecta stats in Paragon 2.0. Unless Power Hungry is OP then maybe just use that!
Okay, I probably should never have included the bit about a potential beta.
But I'm basically relaying info that was... well, more or less relayed to me.
There's a lot of stuff cleared up (or not cleared up) in the official forum thread. Gets pretty messy toward the last few pages (just walls and WALLS OF TEXT). Anyway, feel free to ask questions. Most things are committed to memory now. If not, I have some notes jotted down. And for anything else with no answers, I'll throw in the courtesy, "I'm not ready to answer that question at this time."
So....no one tested the effectiveness of the revamp runes/passives that generates shields from doing (arcane) dmg (which slay the lifesteal stat)
I'm asking because I had thought that making ninja/deathblossom build using a combination of these could make a ninja wizard thats tanky enough to survive, but dish out a lot of dmg.

We start at level 33. We get 20 minutes of play time. As soon as that's up, the game resets and we're back at level 33. There's no way to test high level spells, runes and passives. Also, there's no elective mode in the demo.
Closed beta comes before the patch, so nope.
Ha. Bagstone.

Those Who Do Not Know True Pain Cannot Possibly Understand True Peace...
That's my assumption as well; RoS around the End of march/April. Loot 2.0 on March 14th or whatever the day the AH dies is.
