I've met those and I can't do them. I don;t like skipping so my conclusion is my gear isn't good enough. Back to Hell act 4 to farm. Sorry don't have any magic solution.
Meh... I can't do them with 35k hp and 33k dps... Farming hell won't help me with them In Act I they have so little hp I can blow them up, but Act 2 or higher, they just suck.
What do you do? This is like the one combo I feel like I want to uninstall for.
Dude those guys are easy, I will give you a run down of how to effectively deal with them, there a are a couple steps involved.
Step 1. Scream out loudly, OMFGWTF at your monitor
Step 2. Rip off headphones, throw at wall
Step 3. Leave computer, go to fridge
Step 4. Get beer
Step 5. Take deep breath.
Step 6. Call girlfriend, tell her you need company cause someone very close to you has just died
Don't worry about it bud, every class and spec has a setup of champ affixes they absolutely hate. Myself as a DH? I contemplate skipping everytime I see an invulnerable minions / mortar / shielding / fast. Can't kite worth shit on those and I can only focus on the middle dude which is always at the back of the pack ><
I had a Fast, Extra Health, Fire Chains that rocked me repeatedly. I found Diamond Skin and Teleport (Reversal) were very helpful. I'm only in Act II (Hell), so I'm not sure how helpful it is. Patience and trial and error are how we learn.
try to play with your friends. Good "tanking" class (monk/barbarian) will change your game experience. Try to separate them (they will lose fire chains) and kill fast one by one while your friend(s) tanking rest of the group with their cooldowns.
Well...I kite said mobs to a far corner of the dungeon they're in and then assume a fetal position and feel the warm embrace of a fire chain envelop me and I proceed to reincarnate at the entrance of the dungeon and only go back to that dark, dark corner if I wanna die in a quick and very painful way.
Tactical Retreat, Teleporting Firechains is a oneshot unless you have a huge open giant field to kite in large circles. If they have Fast or its a fast type mob its probably easier to just reload your game despite the Valor loss.
I imagine this particular type of pack won't be around if they do go ahead with changing inferno elite spawns.
I go with a Blizz/ Venom Hydra combo and attempt to kite, once they are on you hit Diamond skin and try to get a bit of damage on them, then Tele out when Skin is about to wear off.
Had this combo on some spiders in Act I, gets pretty intence heh.
Clearly killed diablo inferno two days after the world first kill
If you're getting hit by mortar bombs it's a l2p issue, you know
Not sure how that is helping that person. With Mortar they seem to have a minimum range. Generally with fire chains I can live for a few seconds with Diamond skin glyphed to crystal shell. If they have additional skills like puddles of death (poison) it is always where they are standing. I do not have any way to illustrate the positioning... but here let me give this a go.
MobX (Melee range)(some space) You (some more space)XXX Mortars of deathXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Sorry for how crude this is but I hope you get the idea. You want to be just outside of melee range but within 20yards of the mob. Inherently the mob will stop in place to cast Mortar and this give you a little DPS time. If you keep your spacing you can survive and kill the mobs. Hope this helps a little.
No. You do what must be done with wizards: you stack movement speed up to 23-25%, you stack attack speed up to 2.5+ attacks per second, you stutter-step moving away from the mobs on the maximum distance and you don't get hit by mortars. It's as easy as that.
The 'mortar-evading strategy' you describe is something fit for barbarians and monks.
Clearly never been in act 2 inferno... mortar 1shots me with 28k health and 75% all resistances
28k is far too low for Inferno. Try 35k+ for Act 1.
Please stop trolling I farm act 1 in my mf gear with 16k health, 35k+ is stupid...
As for the killing Diablo inferno 2 days after world first, lol nerfed skill that you cant use as effectivelyanymore
I seriously hope you're not implying that wizards can't kill diablo inferno solo with 5 stacks of nephalem valor at the moment without any of the fixed mechanics
that wasn't nice.

Gear would probably help, too. My DPS sucks.
No, it isn`t helpful at all. Go try Inferno first.

mortar is a gift, a blank affix spot on champions

pro-tip: they can
