I am looking for input on which you think would be a better choice for PvP
Energy Armor (Obsidian)
Ice Armor (Golden)
Keep in mind that Barbs and Monks will probably cause Wiz' the most trouble (non-stop pressure) with all the dashing and leaping. Always up in your face!
It depends on the spells your using with them... Shocking Aspect with Stretch Time is a great combo but only if your using low ap spells. Energy armor with obsidian is great if your using illusionist to get mirror images with low ap spell (so you don't drain your shield out). Ice armor I think is the least (for options) of these it has slow or Crystallize, for offensive and psychological warfare Chilling Armor is about all Ice Armor brings to the table. I'd have to say Chilling Armor is my favorite for defense using a high damage low ap spell because I can link it with a lot of other spells to add up the slow and make a person run.
Chilling armor would be good I think in PVP if you teleport next to the person, then start firing disintegrate or RoF, and or use Slow Time with it...
Storm Armor: Static Charge: could be used, but still means you have to be hit but it could be good.
Shocking Aspect: for low ap spells that you spam, in stretch time bubble especially.
Power of the Storm: really anti-monster thing, more than PVP
Strike Back: you still have to be hit, a lot, if it worked with Diamond skin... who knows
Energy Armor: Pinpoint: but chance to critical isn't 1 out of 100%....
Prismatic: only against a wizard but why not just run or hit with damage
Force Armor: against Barbs and monks, but if the hits only do 26% couldn't that still mean 4 hits and your dead? have to see more about how this works. It is good for illusionist build and against monsters that hit super hard (inferno) but I don't know if anyone else would make good use in PvP.
Ice Armor: Crystallize: probably good with blur but just raising defense might not be enough to stop a barbarian?
Chilling Armor: probably better, teleport to them, do damage and stab in back with ray spell.
Miasma with this and ray spell could be deadly slowing combination. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#icjSOb!edV!ZbZYZY
either use familiar or diamond skin but the slow from this should be annoying,
teleport in (damage and stun), chilling armor hits, wave of force or not,ST, RoF
So you have slow from RoF (40%)and from Miasma, WoF and possibly from Teleport, and definitely from Chilling armor... and a scared barbarian really wondering if he wants to stick around. WoF, Teleport, ST, are all offensive and defensive, with ST miasma lasting a super long time. Maybe a golden rune Familiar so you can do all this stuff even faster, or Disintegrate which uses less ap than RoF but should still do the job of making people run.
