anyone else pissed the fuck off about the little scratchy attack thing>?? and the laser wtf is that... super saiyan...
I don't understand you kids. You complain when they don't do something new, then complain when they do something new. Stop having a double standard.
Lol, I'm not angry at all, but I just see that d3 will be more wowish. Dude, come on, you need to seriously admit that the name does sound kinda lame even though you think the character is good. Wizard just sounds to simple and boring and actually the class is more of the same. The only character I would play so far would be the barbarian, because the two new classes are too simple. You remember that I hate the witch doctor too, lol.
1) I didn't say you're angry, I said you're a complainer.
2) The new skills aren't a rip from WoW at all- those elements are in plenty of other games. They added them because they wanted to introduce new elements to the spells of Diablo. You're being incredibly closed-minded in how you remember things.
3) The Barbarian is very simple- brute strength. That's how he's always been. Every RPG game has the brute force character like the Barbarian- why don't you call Blizzard on that?
4) What's wrong with simple character archetypes? The game's nature is being fast-paced and simple to play.
I am happy for the return of teleport, as it will hopefully make this the new MFing class like the sorc. As long as it stays exclusive to the sorc I think we won't have a repeat of the unbalance in D2.
I really see no problem with it at all. You've complained about everything that's been revealed since the announcement- lighten up a little Wizard is a perfectly suitable name.
You do realize that in all three games their skills have always been based on D&D skills? There are enough new skills with the class, a new makeup, new spell mechanics not present in the Diablo games before. It's all good and moving forward.
That said, I love the new class. Every RPG game I've played, I've always gone with the casters and never gotten bored of them (the Sorceress is the only class I play in Diablo II, and I've been playing it for 8 straight years.) I don't see how they were uncreative by any means- It isn't humanly possible to create an element or magical principle that can't exist, they've all been done through history with mythology and folklore and gaming of all kinds. The fact they they introduced new spell mechanics is a very good thing and innovative on their part, since it would have been easy to stick with just basic elemental spells from their prior games.
Whats the new class mechanic ?
That think can really make happy.. tel me please Ç_Ç
I don't understand you kids. You complain when they don't do something new, then complain when they do something new. Stop having a double standard.
In my humble opinion, "Cloud of daggers" isn't really an original idea. Although, as Voltaire once stated: "Originality is merely judicious plagiarism."

You like everything that they throw at you dont you? I was just voicing my opinion. By wowish I meant how the spells look and how the characters look and their gay names, except for barb.
Have an original idea, then? Originality is a point of view and bias- it depends on your reference.
You like everything that they throw at you dont you?
I never said that- do not put words in my mouth.
I was just voicing my opinion.
I never said you couldn't. I said stop complaining about absolutely everything.
By wowish I meant how the spells look and how the characters look and their gay names, except for barb.
Um, nothing like WoW- if I remember correctly from when I played a few of my free trials, you stopped when you were casting and had timers all over the place, the spells were done in horrible particle rendering, magic diversity was virtually non-existent, and if this was the release of Diablo II you would be saying the Sorceress is a lame, simplistic name. You want to complain about things, so you will naturally have an automatic pessimistic paradigm on anything you see from this game.
I said spell mechanic, learn to read. The new mechanic is time.
lol.. ''Time'' is not a mechanic - it's element. When ppl say mechanic they are talking about a gameplay feature or something like that.
Slow down element with Time Slow is not a new mechanic.. We allready have things to slow down enemys...

And just for the record, WoW took TONS of influence from Diablo and Diablo 2, which took TONS of influence from D&D, which took TONS of influence from....(etc etc)
Honestly, it drives me absolutely batty when people complain about "WoW influences" when most of those are taken from diablo to begin with. You know, skill trees, etc

Um, no, we don't, not on this level- you didn't play the last two games, I guess. Some fan. It slows down things within the area of affect. We had a curse in Diablo II that slowed on target, but no, not in area of affect.
Have an original idea, then? Originality is a point of view and bias- it depends on your reference.

Why you always have to get so defensive like,'' dont put words in my mouth''. lol. I said that because you NEVER had a complaint, which is BS and you should because I think that you once said that you played d1, d2 long ago too. Based on that, some of blizzard direction so far HAS to tick you off, or you're just being nice. weird.
No ranged class when we've seen bows drop? Unless you think the rogue will be a ranger/rogue hybrid (which for the record could be right up my alley if implemented correctly).
Indeed, that is exactly what I think. Specifically, I think that the next two classes will be a Knight class and a Ranger class, the ranger being one who specializes in bows and nature.
Also, may I be the first to note that the female Wizard is apparently Asian?
@Magistrade: Frost Nova, Blizz, Huricane... All those things slowed down multiple enemys at once.
And decripify have a very very small AoE, but it is also massive.
Edit: I saw the offical videa and it's seens the Sphere do not only slow enemys, but missiles (like slow missiles). Thats cool once slow missiles was one of the most cool abilitys in D2.
Still, i'm disapointed. I spected a totally new character, with new gameplay and mechanics. Creat something new is not something easy, but its excenctial.
The WD is a very creativy class imo. He is a summoner, but do not count on summons to do everything. Noy only that, he channel effects by using the summons as ammonition.
The wiz is pretty much a remade soc, you must agree. But I see you're a soc fan (and i hated D2's soc) - so i'm glad you're happy that you got the old class you played but with new abilities.
But you must accept different opnions of other ppl. I was expecting something really new, not new spells in a old game play, but a new gameplay, can you understand ?

Do I need to have a complaint? Why do I need to have a complaint? The only one I *might* consider a complaint is the inventory system, but I understand where they want to go with it and the reasons for them doing so, so I'm willing not to be unreasonable and let my personal preference block this from being an excellent game.
Secondly, Diablo I was entirely different from Diablo II (in color- Diablo II had way more color- and character classes, new magic elements, new types of items, a diverse world not limited to one dank dungeon and a few levels of Hell), and Diablo II: LoD had many untraditional features from Diablo II (electric traps, fire traps, shape-shifting, runes, etc.) I am willing to recognize the extreme differences and the evolution of Sanctuary as a world, not just as "Diablo", and its course as a game. I would have loved if Diablo III was in 2D isometric view. I would have loved if it was just a few more acts and characters (I.E., an expansion.) And why? Because, as a customer and fan, I've been able to massively enjoy each and every one of their Diablo games because of their differences- it's what made each one unique.
Don't try and play that card again. Ever. There were people like you who raised hell about the transition from Diablo I to Diablo II, too. And they were all wrong- it sold like bloody hell and the game is now considered by most newer fans as the basis of the series.

I totally agree with you. D1 =/= D2. And D3 MUST be different from D2 and ppl must get used to the changes. But the only thing i didn't like till know is the lack of inovation in the gameplay.
The barb is a remade class, so he's going to be very similar to the D2 barb. I'm sad because wiz is not a new class. It's a soc remade, with a diferent name and a diferent background, but the most excential thing in a game (and in a class), the gameplay. is the same till now.
There goes anyones wondering about the asian island... and therefore... should probably cut the samurai ponderings down to size.
Secondly,
Everyones problems with the lack of originality in the classes are insane. Diablo characters have always been archetypes... Its the players job to turn them into unique gods through use of items and skill strategy
*shrug* Well I for one was very pleased and satisfied with how the Wizard is shaping up, my favorite class so far I think. Unless the next to blow me away then the Wiz is going to be my first character. The skill set looks like it'll be very entertaining and offer a strong replay value and a lot of diversity.
