I dont think that Broken promise is a good choice... lets say ur CHC is 50%, so to active this means you need to have 5 non crit in a row, that has an extremly low chance.
0,5 * 0,5 * 0,5 * 0,5 * 0,5
do i think it wrong?
That's why with that ring you would replace all CHC on gear and remove it in paragon, having only the default 5%

I did not think of that, but allin all with 50% CHC every second hit is going to be crit, for Broken promise, it all comes done on how fast you can hit to reach 5 non crit dmg.
I've mostly experienced the new Tal Rasha through your videos Blayreau. It does seem less "cluncky" as many describes TR with the recent changes to the set, correct? Seems a lot smoother and much more diverse regarding builds?
Actually, as seen lots of times in this thread, fortunately it's not. Focus and Restraint seems like the way to go. There are numerous clears on 40+ without Unity. I'm thrilled about this change if it makes it to live servers.
I really am excited about this set, so I am lending my abilities as a vector of design and inspiration.
Here's my swing at Tal Rasha's Elements:
(2 Set Bonus) Damaging enemies with Arcane, Cold, Fire or Lightning will cause a Meteor of the same damage type to fall from the sky. There is an 8 second cooldown for each damage type.
(4 Set Bonus) Your Arcane, Cold, Fire or Lightning Elemental damage bonus becomes the product of all four.
(6 Set Bonus) You gain a Fire, Cold, Lightning and Arcane charge. Your attacks consume a charge of the same element to cost 40% less Arcane Power and deal 700% more damage for that attack. You regain all charges after you expend them all or after not attacking for 15 seconds.
Alternative: Your Arcane, Cold, Fire or Lightning Elemental damage bonus becomes the sum of all four.
The key is the (4) set bonus. This allows for a unique relief from single element itemization that every build and class requires. It is a strong bonus, but it requires other items and slot to provide + Element damage which adds a bit to diversity.
Relieves the focus on one element and attack.
Encourages itemizing as many elements as possible since the multiplicative bonus of different elements is greater than the additive bonus of stacking one element, (Ex. 4 sources of Fire, Cold, Lightning and Arcane each = 1.2 * 1.2 * 1.2 * 1.2 = 2.0736 = 207.36%. 4 sources of Fire +elemental damage = 20%+20%+20%+20% = 80%.) Itemization is truly unique for this wizard set.
One example: The Witching Hour is outclassed by Thunder God's Vigor for best-in-slot for a Tal Rasha wizard lacking + Lightning damage.
Also furthers the fantasy of a master of the elements.
Do yall think tal rasha is gonna work out in solo when it comes to high grifts? I mean grats on the 50 clear but to me it seems like if it's not slow melee monsters you are screwed. I mean in the last vid on the second floor all it took was a soul lasher to make everything painful. Surely I know wasp/ranged goat, or act5 monsters always gonna be more difficult but without teleport and with the general flaw in wizard that you supposed to live through things without immunity I don't know how it can work out on the average. Maybe sacrifice bastion for unity since your damage won't seem to be a problem anyway.
I threw together a shitty gear on ptr just to try the set, on 39 with meaner monsters I died like a million times, it was just that my damage was so over the top I still was able to complete.
The pull-in mechanic could be a real problem for non-season players, since both Ranslors Folly (energy twister bracers) and obsidian ring will be season only.
Only option left is in-geom with black hole. And I'm not entirely convinced in-geom is really worth wearing if you use only on CD based skill.
Plus in-geom is a sword, so has a bad ap/dmg ratio (too fast).
On the other hand i don't have any other idea of how soloplay could work now. Meteor is terrible on wide spread mobs.
Blayreau i watched your videos and after all i think Frost is a lot better then Lightning.
Another thing is, i dont like the Hydra, cause its not that big of a dmg boost and it only applies the Buff/Debuff + some mediocre dmg. Better get Magic Weapon Ignite + some defensive Spell. And there u have another reason for cooldown reduction Frostnova, Diamond skin or even Blink would be rly nice to have.
Using Black Hole or Twister wont make much of a difference, Black Hole gives huge 30% dmg Boost, but needs ~35% CDR at least. And it applies to Elites, and isnt as random as Energy Twister.
In-Geom is another Item i didnt even think about, lot more control but 20% less Elemental dmg. Maybe worth it...for spamable Black Hole every 4-5 secs.
Magic weapon ignite procs Tal's meteor, but not 6pc buff and hydra is lacking in dmg, only because it does not benefit from Tal's 6pc, which I personaly think is a bug.

Well, if u equip Broken Promise, you will want the less CC possibly in ur gear, so 50% CC is some kind of bad spec to complement with Broken Promise.

The staff smoldering core-s legendary affix appliies to TR meteors as well? or only yours?
Blayreau did you test the new TR with the new stacking duration?
Is it feel better? They said they have changed the dmg calculation of the meteor as well. But i guess its not so good after the Focus + Restrain nerf.
Maybe Focus +R should ba changed to broken promise ? (i really doubt that ring will be on live srv) + SoJ
I think they will be very viable. Still 175% x 3 = 525 % damage. And the duration is longer (6 s).

I read through the thread and did not see a definitive answer to this, but will the following skills generate stacks with Tals 6pc?
Storm Armor (Lightning)
Familiar - Sparkflint (Fire)
Frost Nova - Any rune (Ice)
Teleport - Calamity (Arcane)
None of those no
I don't know if its my crappy phone, but were both of those vids really laggy?
So is it true, that the hydra doesn't benefit from Tal 6pc bonus right now?
Just read it on a forum and can't test it myself, since the PTR is always overloaded when i got time to play.
If this is correct, let's just hope it's a bug and will be fixed before it goes live. Missing Hydra in this Build is a huge loss.
It's sad but absolutely true, hydra does not currently benefit from 6pc Tal'Rasha bonus.
That would be kinda unbalanced as you would be able to fit proc of all 4 meteors for every stack of Tal'rasha and the damage would be just insane
Whats the point of Odyn son?
I really think that well-rolled Triumvirate will net wizard best dmg, +10 to fire/lightning/arcane is just too good.
As for the lightning, I prefer not using this element actually, as it offers nothing special.
