So the build I'm using (basically a fire pet build) recommends the Gargantuan with the Wrathful Protector rune and I get it. Dude crushes skulls... but not always. I feel like 1/2 the time I cast him, he comes out and stands there with his dick in his hand doing nothing.
1) Do you all see this happening a lot?
and 2) If so, what do you recommend using for my 4th slot? I've toyed around with some stuff, but not been happy with any of it. I dig the Gargantuan, but if he's just going to stand there when I'm fighting stuff, what's the point?
Well now, let's see... Hypothetically, let's say that I have 2 level 70 characters, a level 60 Barb I never use and I've put in probably 300 plus hours on this #*$@ing game, but I'm basically making due with sheer determination and I struggle with very basic stuff. Like why one weapon is better than the other, or how I post a build to a forum...
(Seriously... D3 is literally the first game I have ever played in this genre and all my friends are snobs and don't tell me shit, so I'm making due solely based on dying a lot, getting frustrated and trying to understand what in the world people are saying when they talk about builds and stuff...)
BUT, He's got the Garg you mentioned, a fire% bonus, and a Garg% bonus. And yes, he does stand around sometimes with his priorities out of touch with reality.
The rune where the garg goes crazy on elites might be a bit better.
I try to rock the "go crazy around elites" and it's the same business... 1/6 times shit goes nuts. The other 5 times? "Hi, I'm a giant Gargantuan. I'm just gonna stand here and put out the vibe" (but he doesn't wear the sweet Dumb and Dumber tuxedos...)
Slaughter Kitty, I'll play around with some of those, I just need something else... I'm over the Gargantuan. Like I said, I'm deep into this, but I'm still a newb, so I don't know what my build is good at/what I should use. I look at the details and there's so many numbers. Fire Damage... Armor... Crit Chance... Just lots of numbers. I feel like if I had any idea what all I did i would be so much better, but I don't. So I just fight and yell and get angry and keep fighting...
In wideopen spaces my gaug usually hits something. but it tight hallsways etc ha can get stuck and start scratchign balls untill he despawns.
However .... lately iw just used Phiranado to mop up stuff and then Spirit walked to the opposite side and then poped my Gaug. he usually find an elite or something to smack that way..
In a WD group and 4xpet docs your gaug will scratch his balls untill they fall off no matter what you do... SO make sure you have some backup spec/gear for that
I've never understood all the knocks about the garg. People complaining about him must be running pet heavy builds? My only pet is the garg and he always attacks SOMETHING. Sometimes he'll attack the wrong target but if you spawn him near the elite pack, he'll typically attack them.
I've had an issue with him just standing there once but that's because the group had 3 WDs and they were fetish WDs so there was no path to the mobs.
Control the Garg .... if he stupid , try to control him. try this combo .... see champion pack = summon him first and use pirahado right in front of him or on top of him

Link like this might help a little better. This is my WD, and he's still very early into it. Still have a lot of gear to find and some rerolls even...
