I've seen a lot of Builds being posted on this site and on D3's site, but I haven't found one that uses dot's. In this guide I will talk about the Skills, Gear, Passives and Different Variations of the build.
LOCUST SWARM -This is the skill we will be focusing on as are main hitter. With the Pestilence rune this skill will pull mobs straight to you. It's an amazing tool to use as your doing rifts/bounties to find elites and bounty targets. Not only is this great for pulling mobs in but it hits for solid damage. The goal with this skill is to pump up the damage to a point where in 1 cast all smaller mobs will melt.
SPIRIT WALK -For this skill we will be using the severance rune for the Mana we will need for the other skills. This is also our get out of jail free card as we can move out of frozen, break stuns...ect
Plague of Toads -This is a filler skill with the addling rune. This skill not only hits very hard but is also a great CC ability. As we cast this spell our toads will confuse mobs making them attack other mobs or in cases when there is only one mob will make them stand still.
ZOMBIE CHARGER -Our heavy hitting mana dump with ZOMBIE BEARS rune. This is why we have SPIRIT WALK SEVERANCE to allow us to spam this skill. With proper gear this spell crits for 13m a hit.
PIRANHAS- My favorite skill in this build with the PIRANHADO rune. This skill not only hits very hard but also groups up mobs so we can use our ZOMBIE BEARS to hit every mob. This is a mandatory for all build variations. It's great for not only damage as we get a 15% damage increase but also as a CC.
ZOMBIE DOGS -Leeching Beasts rune. This skill is here for several reasons. First these dogs keep mobs away from us, and second it gives us more life on hit. These dogs rarely if ever die and I have yet to lose all my dogs in one fight.
PASSIVES GRUESOME FEAST -Pumps up are DPS and helps fill our MANA
GRAVE INJUSTICE -Reduces our cooldowns and gives us MANA
CREEPING DEATH -15% Damage buff when you cast PIRANA and makes the damage buff last for 5 mins
FETISH SYCOPHANTS -Gives us a chance to spawn more pets to tank for us as we cast all of our damaging spells.
GEAR WEAPONS -RHEN"HO FLAYER is the weapon we really want in this build. It makes our Toads seek out enemies instead of just jumping all over the screen. This however is NOT a requirement but a goal to aim for.
STATS Poison Damage % -You want to stack Poison Damage in ever slot that can have it Amulets, Braces, Rings, Pants (Swamp Walkers),
Skill Damage % - You want to focus on 2 skills Locust Swarm Damage (Shoulder,Chest,Mojo) and Toads (Belt,Pants).
Pick Up Radius -You want as much Pick up Radius as possible for your Passives Gruesome Feast and Grave Injustice. The more you have the better your mana and cooldowns will be.
PLAYSTYLE The play style of this build is as follows.
1. Cast Locust Swarm to grab mobs
2. Once you have a group cast PIRANHADO to group them up
3. Cast ZOMBIE BEARS to hit all targets
4. ReCast Locust Swarm
5. cast PIRANHADO once it's off CD every time
6. Use SPIRIT WALk as needed for mana.
With this build I run
Torment 1 - Zero Problems, most mobs die in 1 cast of Locust Swam. Only having to stop and use other skills for elites. Elites die in 20 sec's.
Torment 2 - Zero Problems, mobs die in 1 cast of locust with Piranhado. Elites die in about 20 to 30 secs.
Torment 3 - Some Problems as my toughness and damage is just slightly low so Elites can kill me but with a little more gear I should be fine.
T4+ For the higher torments I believe you will need to take off Zombie Bears and use Soul Harvest with the set JADE HARVESTER. I full believe that once you have this set you can use this build in all Torment Difficulties.
If I may add a suggestion to this build... replace zombie dogs with grasp of the dead with the rune that gives a chance to drop a health globe or summon a zombie dog. That's triple efficiency. you slow enemies, more chance to drop globes and with pickup radius means you can spam your bears, and also gives zombie dogs. The downside is they wont leech for you.
Fun build overall, but you changed your weapon and offhand to that set. is that for more damage? can you still suck in health globes without the frog? also hows your mana with them?
