So from what I understand as far as top build go the Jade Harvester build was supposedly going to be the go to build this Season as RoE got nerfed bad. If this is the case then why are the leader boards currently stuffed with the HT Garg build from last season? Is it because we WDs refuse to go Jade or is there actually a reason behind it? I currently hold the set for both builds (my HT set has some ancients) and I've been thinking about making the switch when RoE actually drops for me. Any thoughts?
HT Gargs still has a huge damage output combined with good survivability. That and the fact we got it from haedrigs this season is why a lot of us (me included) are using it.
RoE has only been nerfed for pet builds. Jade should be popping into the boards sooner than later as paragons and caldesans start to hit making Jade more powerful.
To use RoE on HT I've seen people using firebats with HT. It's even more glascannon because you can't use harvester and lakumbas but deals a lot of damage. Those sacrifice builds in groups are nothing new. Gargs dealing the damage being buffed by provoke the pack. Supported by homunculous this is really strong too.
HT has some more options to be played now. Jade is viable too if performed right. It's just easier to stick to HT Gargs as the items are here anyway.
Indeed, I've been playing a bit with both, and played HT Garg last season. HT Garg is very easy, though, high damage, lazy etc. Jade also does quite some damage, but it is not as though as HT. Add to that, that Jade is a lot more difficult to play - more skills to handle - and that might indicate why most are running HT Garg. But I must say that Jade is a lot of fun, and less boring that HT Garg. In season 6 I had GR75 quite soon, and then stopped playing for 2 months because it was so boring.
