I was wondering how Locust Swarm interacts with Confidence Ritual (25% increased damage to enemies within 20 yards). How does this apply to Locust Swarm? Does the moment of application only count for the damage boost (thus getting the 25% increased damage), or is every tick seperately calculated wether you're within range to proc CR?
The reason I ask is I'm building a LoN walker set (gonna be a loooot of farm for 5 ancient pieces); and I'm curious wether to take CR or not. If the initial application is what counts, a 25% dmg boost is really nice.
This this also work with Zei's Stone of Vengeance btw?
Confidenct Ritual is bad for Locust Swatm pestilence, since it spreads around the whole screen. Only counts what's inside the 20 yard bubble around you. When mob runs out of the bubble CR does not apply.
Overall JMacc's Walker build is bad and outdated, as it requires 13 ancients to barely work. And still it's worse than Arachyr, cause Arachyr is 1500% multiplier, and LON is just 1300%. DOn't waste your time.
The reply before mine is quite critical and not really correct. Confidence ritual will give u a 25% multiplicative dmg buff to enemies within 25 yards ( as stated). This works on locust swarm in the same way it applies to anything else. The locust swarm will do 25% more dmg to enemies who are affected by your locust swarm and also within 25 yards of your character.
Zei's works in a similar way. The further away you run from your enemies, the more damage the zei stone will do. It is updated in real time, so each tick will do more dmg.
Although locust swarm builds can be quite hard to gear for, arachry is NOT the better option. I play hardcore. rank 9 WD. I have a fully augmented LoN Poison locust speed farmer using Thing of the deep. It is by far my favorite build. Consistantly clearing gr 45s in 1 minute 30 seconds. The key distinction here is running a gem of toxin with poison rolls on gear. The toxin's dmg is quite good. The reason Arachyr can't compete is because your pets do no dmg,and you will not be able to effeciantly kill elites.
Here is a link to The build i currently run on Hardcore. I made the guide yesterday. Maybe you'll be interested in this version of a locust swarm build
it may make locust swarm do more dmg... but you're missing the point. No matter what set bonus you use, Locust swarm will never be an elite killer. locust swarm is just for trash. LoN buffs Pets AND swarm. U need something to kill elites... thus LoN being the better option.
