Hey guys, today I show and discuss a non-Carnevil Zunimassa pet build using both TMF and SMF. Unfortunately due to the set's limitations (no shoulder slot, spender requirement for 6 piece, low toughness, pet collision, etc), it doesn't seem to be (currently) usable for anything. This is different from my usual videos, but I spent some time trying to put together a 'good' build with the updated set and it doesn't appear possible when compared to Helltooth or even Legacy of Nightmares. It could work if the damage multiplier was higher, but it would have to be noticeably so. Enjoy & discuss!
I tried dropping TMF and used ring of emptiness/SMF with SMK and Wyrmwood RoRG MoJ in cube.Downside is i have to spawn haunt but ive always much preferred a flat damage increased as opposed to waiting for CoE to land on my preferred element. The way I look at it if its cycling 4 elements and I do poison damage then its really not 200%ed its more like 50%ed. With this setup BBV is always up and then I can use Hacylon/strongarm to perma cc/debuff mobs. My main damage output are gargs using restless giant and they do serious damage with the new reduced cooldown on enrage. Even with all this I definitely agree that the build is still way too squishy. Another problem with the build is how much your damage is spread out. It helps being able to re-place your fetishes but it just takes longer to drop certain monsters.
Did you try a F&R build? Like dropping CoE in cube for TMF (that one dog hits pretty hard as far as I see) and using F&R with Firebomb generator? You just need to activate it every 4th second. I do play that build currently on HC on live servers and it works pretty well (of course with Acid Cloud as spender due to no GotD item). Also, is that buff from 275% to 800% that bad? I thought that would make Zuni-Pet-Builds viable again.

I've tried a few variations and long story short Helltooth pet build > Zuni pet build for reasons you'll see later today. LoN Carnevil > all currently.

I'm not sure about findings form others, but I had feeling that Ring of Emptiness was boosting only my damage and not that of my pets at all. All the damage from fetishes stayed the same - so it seems it might be good ring for Jade build only?
Pls correct me if I'm wrong with that, maybe they changed it, as this was a test I did on beginning of PTR.
I tried pet Zuni only on PTR yesterday evening, wearing Mask of Jeram, and having Aquilla Cuirass in cube you still die to much, even on GR65. Also new bracers that give damage reduction for each stack of soul harvest you have was used.
Well, no item was augmented, but still, with other non-augmented builds (Helltooth, LoN) I run trough GR65 on PTR.

Have you tried it since they changed the set to 800% damage?
As it isn't live for that long (not at the time you posted the video).
It WAS live. Blizzard been doing server-side patches this PTR so tooltips weren't updated, but the numbers were accurate. Zuni has been 800% for quite some time now.
