Hello. I can't say I'm new to the game, but it's the first time in years I'm trying to actually get somewhere with my chars. I've started a season necro and I'm doing rather well with a Pestilence Corpse explosion build. Now, I've seen the typical Pestilence build, but I HATE builds that force me to avoid stuff while I wait on my CDs. The other build I've seen is the Inarius one, which looks nice, I suppose. The thing is, I really love the build I'm using, but no one else seems to be going that way for higher GR, and so I'm hesitant about investing time with that build. I don't intend to push for the top rankings (my timetable does not allow me to play much) but I don't want to get frustrated with a build that will take me only so far. What do you guys think?
edit. It took a while, but this is roughly my build:
For legendary gems, right now I'm using Bane of the Powerful, Bane of the Stricken and Gem of Efficacious Toxin. I'm Parangon lvl 259 and just now I've cleared GR42 with time to spare. As for the items, I don't have a specific list, I just go along and see if what I get is good or not. My main concern is investing in upgrading my 2H weapon and then find out that there are better builds which use a specific weapon, for instance.
Could work, but I think you are missing out on too much damage with your equipped weapon and cubed weapon; you have a bunch of poison skills, so why not Nayr's Black Death? And the Pestilence set buffs Bone Spear, which you have as a skill, so I'd go for the Maltorius scythe that buffs it even more - it will do more for you than the Thunderfury and Ashbringer you have.
If you do try the Nayr's, maybe go for a poison rune on a primary skill, and the poison rune for Bone Armour to buff it even more, though I appreciate you are getting lots of heath globe healing with the current set up.
Sorry, after some days I stopped checking for replies. Actually, I cubed Nayr's Black Death, and switched to Bone Spear. To be honest, right now my main problem is not DPS, corpse explosion is doing just fine in that regard, with spear and armour working great as secondary dmg dealers (they will clean trash mobs I can use as gunpowder with no problem). My main issue right now is survival. I'm nearing GRift 60 and I feel like a glass cannon. I understand that ranged characters are more vulnerable, but sometimes I feel it's way too much.
