Lets not spread misinformation please. The Necromancer doesn't have any poison skills or abilities. One might argue however, that Blight is the same as poison, but that just isn't the case. Poison inherently has DOT affects, while Blight doesn't.

I don't believe this was spreading any information at all.. he was stating that, like most classes, Necro will have skills that have the damage element of "physical, poison and frost". this falls in line with items like CoE, which cycle through your class elements. in all likelihood, they will have poison based runes that DO add a DoT effect or a ailment of some kind similar to other poison skills.
We have an affix on item that says "Your X spells deal Y% more damage", with X being the damage type, i.e. Fire, Physical, Poison, etc.
If you look on spell runes, some have a little adnotation that says "Damage of Y Spell changes to X", with X being the very same damage type as above.
We have CoE which cycles through damage types.
^This is exactly what the information about Necro "poison skills" refers to, not a general theme of an ability/rune.
To make things easier to understand, if we had like a simple Fireball spell, it's theme would obviously be Fire, but for gameplay reasons they could set the damage type to whatever they liked, for example Cold. Now, a Fireball that would look like fire, but deal cold damage wouldn't make much sense, but the difference between Poison damage type and Blight/Decay theme is small enough to put them on the same spell. And that's what Blizzard is doing.

This is some blind assumptions. Just watch Bloodshed's interview with Blizzard devs.
You do know this is the dev team from D3 who apparently takes 1 year on average to give what the community wants.
How are you certain the devs wont up and create a new element. Watch Bloodshed's interview. It was pretty much alluding to a new ring dedicated for Necro. Every class has 4 elements but the Necro. So for all we know, the 4th elemental radiation which acts like thorns and poison combined. Blight doesn't equal poison. By your definition alone it mean Rend from barbs should be poison damage. Yet barbs have lightning, fire, physical, and cold damage; No poison. And now lets bring up Firebird ignition. I guess that should also be poison damage by your definition.
Your blind assumptions is as bad as end game META predictions based on the PTR.
You people need to wait for the closed BETA. After that wait for Live purchase.
The information we have on the necro is scarse but the fact that he HAS poison dmg + cold + physical is pretty much a given, besides not all classes have 4 elements, ever tried to CoE on a monk? it rotates 5 elements so y...
And since the necro will have fewer skills+ passives than other classes it's not a surprise he also has less elemental variety, which according to blizzard it's called "concentrated coolness" although i would call it "concentrated lazyness".
So the necro beta test is live.
It looks like necromancers have physical, poison, and cold... and the COE (on the beta test) is cycling through those 3 elements.
Of course it's a beta- I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with a 4th (new) element for them... blood power or something.
Edit: I haven't kept up with what Blizz has said about the necromancer. I leveled one up and have played it a bit and I've done a few challenge rifts. So far it's fun to play, but we will get a better feel for it as they start to roll out class-specific items.

Well, Blizzard stated they wanted only 3 elements for the Necro, and CoE being more powerful for him as been addressed with "we're going to make even more interesting rings so you should have options and possibly want other stuff than CoE".
So basically they said at blizzcon that Necro won't have poison because witch doctor and then changed their mind because it's the freaking necro. He needs poison!
And man, I really hope the sets make him play a bit differently, because of what I see in the streams, he looks kinda boring to play...
I'm not trying to start something and normally you make some semi-relevant posts but lately you've been sharing some hate towards this game with no logical points tbh...
Blizzard said Necro wouldn't have poison as a theme which they don't have (they never mentioned elemental variety in terms of gameplay)
Necro is as fun as a witch doctor with no legs or set items... in fact one could argue that WD and even Wizard is alot more boring since you don't even have corpses as an additional mechanic, but they are basically a normal int class with the same boring things we've seen in every RPG so far.
All i'm saying is that there is no point in bashing without even putting some constructive though behind it except
hate spreading... you're better than that dude, peace.
Well imo death nova animation > wave of force everyday,
Bone spear (teeth at least) animation > arcane orb,
the animation the character does while channeling Syphon Blood is also pretty cool looking etc...
I guess it's a taste issue (we can't all like blue or there would only be blue stuff right?) if so i can understand someone who doesn't like the particular look of the skills and it has nothing to do with functionality, but that wouldn't make the character boring since death nova and wave of force are pretty much the same spell with different color/graphics, most of the necro spells are just the standard arpg spells a caster normally has but with it's own theme.

Leveling up I was spamming Death Nova with the wildebeest gem and the passive where you spend life instead of essence. My gpu sounded like a helicopter about to take off but it was fun. Beta servers seem to be offline atm.
from list of skills i can't see Necro as good pet master, or good dps (all his skills looks like garbage), but he must be pretty (more then pretty) good support in high GR, the higher GR - the better goes necro. All thanks to passive where curses not expire, where you can get 3 curses and major factor in this - curse that instagib mobs who hit 15% hp or less. (just imagine GR 120+ or so, where that 15% are bazilions of hp)

You understand there are still no "corresponding" legendaries, nor sets for the Necro on the PTR yet? People just combine existing non-class specific stuff for LoN at the moment.
My guess is, there will be at least one "OP" set at the beginning, just to get more people into buying the Necro pack.
So there are necro poison skills/runes or not? I dont get it.
