What do you think of using the new depth diggers along with mythic rythme after patch? I played around with it before but was better just to spam LTK even though it hits like a truck with mythic ryhme, but with generator damage being buffed and depth digger giving them a lot more damage it might be more on par now or better.
I'd like to also mention Sun Keeper as a possible weapon. Yes, you will loose some +fire from your devastator but that extra damage against elites (since you shouldn't care about your damage against white mobs) is so yummy.
Seconding this based on my experience with my barb. I don't have any concrete math, but I can safely say from my own anecdotal experience once you're in the 70%+ elemental damage range with only one weapon having said elemental damage, SK can be a very nice jump in damage vs. elites.
Good guide It's given me some pointers on setting up my monk (was lightning, now fire since I have a fire-based DH I can pass gear from, lol).
Thanks for the extensive guide. I was wondering - would you consider Razor Strop worthwhile in the belt slot?
Yes! Razor Strop is worth using. I don't believe the proc scales with your %Fire damage (???) though. If it does then its fantastic, if it doesn't its still really strong until you require a Blackthornes/Captains/Inna's or perhaps something else your working toward.
I understand you want traffic to your channel but the guide is NOT updated. All you say in your video are some thoughts regarding the changes, not what to actually do with the changes.
I like your work and am a follower but don't advertise something that isn't there.
In what way is my guide not updated may I ask? If you look at the changes made in 2.0.6 and that the guide says 2.0.6 I don't see the problem. The videos are not updated no, but I am not promoting the old videos, my NEW videos however tell you the changes and my thoughts about new builds. I'm not going to tell people what they should and shouldn't be doing on a PTR as alot are not even sure. As I'm sure you can see above my previous post, I stated that I am working on a video on the Monk changes and my thoughts. On my videos, you can see the changes, and my thoughts.
What this is doing, is bumping my post for a CURRENTLY relevant guide. That is the text in the original post. If people wish to click on my youtube links, they are there. I am not forcing, asking, or even requesting that you do, in any of my posts. What I AM doing is keeping my post for a currently popular, helpful, T1-4 build on the first page for Monks that don't have time for the PTR or high Torments and want to play a strong build for an underpowered class.
If my content isn't satisfying you, you do not have to view it. I thank you for following and liking my work thus far though. If people viewing this think I should perhaps do an updated 2.0.6 video for both of my guides, I can do this.
Got a pretty good firebuild going on. I can do T6 with ease and yesterday I got to Grift lvl 28. Failed because I was too slow and the rift had all the tough act4+5 mobs. Pretty sure I can get a little further if I'm luckier with the rifts.
Anyway the build has high damage and very high defense.
Some screenshots below.
Stats + items:
Some key items:
Unity - The 50% dmg reduction is insane. It may be cheap but then again you're the monk. You need this. + With this you can free up the mantra of healing slot for Exploding Palm.
4 piece inna's - The defense/offense you get from mantras is really nice.
*Why no cindercoat? Because I want to be able to spam sweeping wind for a fraction (1) of the spirit cost to constantly have maximum stacks on the Taeguk legendary gem + I get to equip unity. Both of these outweigh Cindercoats special qualities imo. (Btw if you equip CIndercoat + 4 piece inna your sweeping wind becomes 0 and thus you cannot get constant max stacks on Taeguk.°
2 pieces of monkey king - The +20% dmg to ALL damage because I wield a Daibo is pretty good.
The Crudest Boots - Unfortunately I don't have these yet but with these I'll get another fire ally wich is pretty big! (+10% damage and 290% on active). Firewalkers are still pretty nice though!
Gogok of the Swiftness legendary gem - For insane increased attack speed on my daibo and a nice CDR boost.
*** I would switch the socket from my Sunwoko amulet to my Stone of Jordan ring if I could but unfortunately I can't.. This will be something I will try to fix. see bottem of the page ***
The other items are self explanatory.
Skills + passives:
As you can see no mantra and full offense skill set. With 2 defensive and 2 offensive passives.
I'm thinking of switching the passive Unity for Beacon of Ytar once I find Ramalandi's gift to add another +8% cdr to my Daibo. That plus another 10% from my paragons, +8% cdr from shoulders, +8% cdr from gloves and 15% from Gogok's legendary gem will give me a really nice total cdr for more Epiphany and Fire Ally spam.
Also I'd like to get a nice Hellfire Amulet with Fire%, Dex, CritDmg, Crit and one of my passives. This will most likely outweigh the +20% damage buff from sunwoko's and I'll be able to swap the shoulders for other shoulders that can roll secundary resists. Wich in turn frees up a main stat. I could go for Aughild's but personally I prefer the extra spirit regen from health globes you get from Reapers Wraps.
Maybe you can test this build Raisuun and tell me what you think/improve on it?
