It focuses on spirit regen and the exploding palm. I focus on palming the high life pool monster/s and they destroy everything else. I dont have a two hand like skorn, but if i did I might change out one of the passives for guardian path for even more regen.
Its super tanky and lets the other members of your party focus on doing as much DPS as possible. I have stood still inside packs of Plagued/Descrator/Electrified/Horde elites and just traded blows with them until they all died. Spam Crippling Wave to keep all the mobs debuffed and spam Cyclone Strike to keep all the mobs on you and in range of Crippling Wave, Sweeping Wind, Serenity, and Inner Sanctuary. Activate the shield from Mantra of Healing as needed.
I am torn between One With Everything and Beacon of Ytar for the final passive skill at level 70 when RoS comes out. I want to experiment with replacing Concussion with Mangle if possible to increase my damage at the expense of tank.
This is what iv been using for Cursed Chest farming T6. Playing the tanking role in the group, keeping the mobs away from the glass cannon wizards and WD while also grouping them up for better aoe. Avraging 150k dps in the group we managed to kill around 120-130 mobs. If your gonna do this then you should set up a set time where the wizard helps out with a frost nova. We started out with Frost Nova when both big adds were in my range and then i followed up with Serenity, Blind and then Frost Nova again. They usualy died during my blind tho. Cyclone Strike also seems to interupt the melee animation making you take a lot less damage. Works great for this farming and the group setting in general it seemd.
Long time reader here! Haven't posted much but have always loved reading everyones insight and questions! Thought i would share my new build for the patch. Im having no problems running T3 and Higher with my current setup. As alot of ppl have already mentioned monk seemed a bit slower using fist of thunder clap cyclone build. Ive switched over to Way of hundred fists and loving it! Trying to combine as many holy skills as possible then going to stack +hold dam on gear. Ill like my Sheet as everyone can take a look at what ive chosen! Hope you guys enjoy.
I am just starting out with my monk on level 60, is there anyone that could tell me what a good started build would be till I get more comfortable playing him?
I'm kinda lost here guys. I hear 160k DPS on Torment IV? I have around 250k DPS and around 700-800 ress and Torment III is unplayable for me. Rares pretty much one shot me. Life steal doesn't work at all. First rare pack anihilates me in les than one second. I went down to torment I for testing. How do you guys heal now? Only transcendence? I went full life on hit from paragons. Any tips?
Sounds like you need more toughness. 7-800 res seems good, you probably need more vit and armor. If you've got lots of sockets as emeralds then you're in luck because you can swap them for amethysts. Life steal is 10% effective at lv 60, it does work.
I am find torment 3 and above a bit tough as well, it does definitely feel as if my monk has gotten slower. I was previously on mp7/8 and now find t3 a bit challenging at times. I am testing things on a more less cookie cutter cyclone build to compare before and after.
I think the survivability issue is related to life style, its just very low at the moment.
Random question, have they made changes to elemental damage? I see everyone talking about getting fire dmg / or some element dmg. I thought that only mattered when you have a weapon that gave elemental dmg increase like WKL. Having 700-900 fire dmg should not affect abilities?
It should. T6 is not MP10
T3 is the closest thing you can get to MP12 (If it was to linear)
I use similar build to shinna for solo play.I recently got inna's reach (weapon) as 2nd piece of new inna's set and using it for 2 set bonus(massive life per spirit spent),but found also that shenlong set as weapons are working well too(life on hit and life per spirit spent on weapons).I also focused on health globe bonus(had to loose some dps in terms of switching gear, health globe bonus will increase healing from life per spirit spent by massive amount,at the moment I have 66k health globe bonus and 580 life per spirit spent).I also found playing solo on T6 is hard, mostly due to lack of vitality and all resist on gear,if you hit hard pack(bad affixes) you will die couple times until you get them down, hopefully diamond gems will drop faster to get some pieces in gear soon. I use mantra of healing for extra all resist for higher torment(4-6),exploding palm-essence burn is awesome for big packs of white mobs and stuns from wave of light keep most mobs stunned all the time with crit chance close to 50%.Hopefully will get soon 2 more pieces for new 4 set bonus of new inna's set(got weapon and belt for now).MY ingame stats are:150K DPS,over 900k thougness,46k healing and 900 all resist with mantra of healing.
why do u have combination strike and only 1 spirit generator - unless i'm missing something

Crippling Wave - Rising Tide
Dashing Strike - Quick Silver
Exploding Palm - Strong Spirit
Lashing Tail Kick - Scorpion Sting
Sweeping Wind - Cyclone
Mantra of Healing - Circular Breathing

Got some pretty rediculous runs, like 40 million exp in a little over a minute when everything goes right, LOL.
