I just hit level 40 Paragon over the weekend and I spent most of the weekend scouring the action house trying to find some upgrades to bump my damage up to the 200k range but I did not have a lot of success. Same goes for trying to craft new bracers and gloves. I also realized that I spent a lot of my time trying to decide which slot to focus on upgrading. Most bang for the buck if you will. My budget is 20mil-40mil(depending on auctions selling). I run a fairly standard Bells build at MP5-6.
Based on both of your suggestions I went out and bought a Sun Keeper and a WKL with LS on the AH. They dropped my paper DPS by about 80k but I'm a lot less squishy now so I don't have to dance around as much when facing certain types of elite packs. I guess I'll just keep an eye on the AH for UGs for either weapon, one with more +crit dmg and perhaps a WKL with a socket if I can get one for a decent price.
Based on everyone's suggestions I went and made a number of changes to my monk, got him from 80k at my last post to 130k, but now I'm trying to figure out what the best course of action is next. I have about 60 mil to spend and am trying to figure out what the best single upgrade might be at this time or should I keep saving to 100mil or so and see whats available at that point?
The most obvious problem I could see at a (very) quick glance would be your low HP which would make you very squishy indeed. I would also just keep at the crafting as some huge upgrade is just around the corner I'm sure.
FYI Paragon 40 is far far from the middle I'd say P80 is somewhere in the middle (not based on actual math though).
1. Stack Arcane vit since you already have two pieces.
2. Go for rare chest. I sniped mine for like 30 mils and its All Res+Arcane Res.
3. Change your Witching hour and Inna's pants. In my opinion you shouldn't aim at high dexterity when the budget is low. Instead go for high vit. I would buy Inna's Pants with 130-160 Vit and if lucky some dex. Same goes for the belt: you could buy 160Vit Witching hour probably with some Dex and if super lucky you get some secondary res for stacking like mine.
Edit: your crafted pieces are not worth keeping them on. So forget about Arcane Res and try to find something else if there are no arcane res deals
Well commented by Shinna on the bell build, except that the classical cookie cutter can be easily converted to Bell build on high MP by replacing the Serenity with WoL. With 5+% LS, life return is good enough to give up serenity except in the fight against Ubers.
Instead of combination strike BF+BH+Moc gives you more concentrated blows on elites and goblins.
I would say the quickest solution to your problem is getting more HP. It would probably be cheapest to just change your sunkeeper. There are loads of weapons with high vit, dex, ls and a slot.
Once your life is about 35k-45k you are less likely to die and effectively should kill more mobs without issues giving your more drops which is better than than a higher MF.
Forgot to mention that the reduce spirit rune is recommended for bull build, the difference in damage is small but I can drop 6 bells in a row on full spirit. Never run out of spirit even for prolonged fights.

Use spear, mace or axe for bell build, not WKL.

With 2.5 AS, I can pop bell and MoC and other buffs as often as I wish.
