I am currently playing with dashing strike build and found it quite entertaining. In A1 you can constantly "dash" stuff and always keep up 3 stacks of sweeping wind. It also looks really cool: you are moving like Flash and charging your enemies at superspeed.
I was recently watching Twitch's monks and read this forum and found out not many people are actually using this build. The question is why? Apart from being fun this build seems very efficient to me. You can easily avoid bad stuff like frozen traps or poison from those trees in The Fields of Misery + it is fast. (not as fast as Barb's but still you can farm at a decent pace)
I would like you to take a peek at my gear and possibly point out some mistakes (if any)
- I have 161k unbuffed DPS, 40k life and 560AR (stacking Arcane but will switch if craft anything good with different Resistance);
- My goal is MP9.
You could add more vit to your helm and legs. More dex on belt along with 9as. Nats ring could have cc on it, the more the better. I like that unity, very nice. You could add dex to your weapons and more crit damage. Your boots could have more dex and vit. In all seriousness you have a very nicely geared monk. Oh and be sure to craft some new shoulders, bracer and neck. You should be able to handle mp9 just fine with your current gear.
one more question: should I have my rare chest with 70AR or Inna's chest with +12% Life is a better choice? I sort of lacking HP but have 580AR so maybe I could sacrifice some All Res and get more HP instead?... Or squeezing HP from other pieces is a better idea?
People dont use this build too much for regular farming because you're always spirit starved (unless cooldowns are up) and you dont want to waste your cooldowns on white mobs and then come across an elite pack 3 seconds later and discover you can't do anything until cooldowns reset. This build is great for farming just elites and it gives great mobility (personally I love it because it changes things up and I like watching elites melt under my bells). For regular farming, cookie cutter is pretty solid and it gives consistent dps since you don't have to dash around waiting for BoH/blind. Another thing is that if you aren't killing elites in 1-2 cooldown cycles it's really inefficient so you need to have the high DPS to pull it off. Also, it takes a lot of precision and positioning knowledge to be efficient with this build, and sometimes people just want to click and hold and just kill everything head first.

So I just finished my barb and switched to a new monk since it's not fun for me not to lvl up anything
