Inferno act 1 clear. How to beat the butcher with roughly the same build
Post monk hotfix info.
Inferno for inferno currently able to solo a 2man Skelly King. Build is in the video below and stat requirments are in this video. *Just added*
Build and stats for FULL HELL clear. *Just added*
(I forgot to mention this in the video but you NEED atleast 40k hp and a min of 100 life per hit, dont be afraid to lose 100-200dex for what you need) * 2hours after this video iv been gearing myself out and im now sitting at 5.5k damage 68k hp, THATS RIGHT 68000 hp Makes my boon of protection absorb so much damage lol
This is a quick video of what happens when you stack attack speed (not even a lot) on a monk. I basicly can spam any spell non stop no matter its spirt cost. At this attack speed you regain spirit so fast it doesnt matter.
Basicly I cant really see how I could die (other then self. Even a 50 spirit mantra can be spammed every second! No matter what build your going for having this much attack speed is just freaking amazing and should help. Enjoy!
Wait until you get the Boon of Protection rune. Life regen increased to 1,240.4 Life per second + a mystical shield for 2 seconds that absorbs up to 15% of each target's maximum Life in damage.... OP much? And yes you generate enough spirit to cast it every 2 seconds
I threw this video together in like 30sec so sorry for the 'rushed' job.
I would LOVE any advice or other tips/tricks other monks have found. Im sure my lowbie nub self is like WAY behind the trends. But at least in the partys iv been in that have other monks none seem doing this. Is there a better setup? Please let me know, because from what I can see I could get another 1.00-2.00 attack speed increase with later gear (the gear I have now sucks) so yea. This is not a brag post or anything like that, just wanted to show you something cool that I think may be a tad op, please correct me if need be.
You can see my skills in the video. The runes its kinda up to you, other then boon of protection of course. I'm using Lighting flash/Blade storm/Blazing wrath/Peaceful repose/Searing light/Boon of protection.
yea i've ran with something similar on my monk through normal and nm, boon of prot and the spirit heal, it was pretty much a walk in the park. then i hit hell and i just kept dying. had to switch to a more defensive build. have you had any success with it in hell and inferno? it was much more fun than the current survival build i'm running. maybe i'll experiment with it more when i'm done with hell.
You can even tank with a wizard in those difficulties.
Ease of recording, im using this build in hell mode without issues atm. And as much as I will need to modify it for inferno the fact remains attack speed is good on monks. And you can use this build to cruise from normal to hell without issue, great for hardcore as well.
I'm doing this strat/build on my monk now (Nightmare act3 lvl 50, went up many levels before moving on) and from my point of view it's extremely powerful. Before I struggle but now I'm running though like it's normal. The only thing that gets me now are arcane beams, molten-floor and firetraps. In other words if I'm stupid.
Can't wait to test it in inferno.
Try stacking more vitality and Life % (dont worry if you lose a little dps) you will no longer die to anything plus boon of protection absorbs more damage if you have more hp.
All together this build is actually working great through Hell difficulty atm. I stat'ed more into life% and vitality (obv getting some dex still) so once again this build is viable. Boss fights take a little longer but who cares, never dying is AWESOME!
Currently doing this myself in hell w/ 2 1.5 speed daggers w/ +65 health per hit gems in them and it's great but it's definitely not as OP as you'd think. Normal mobs sure, but get stuck in a pack of blue or yellow mobs or get hit by a boss (like you sat and ate belials hits in that vido) and you're still gonna be dead faster than you can hit serenity.
Be posting another video of this build vs this boss on Hell difficulty. I havnt needed to touch the build yet, just reworked my gear. Vid should be up sometime tomorrow after sleep. Builds still OP as fuck!
Btw I'm currently rocking 2,92 attacks second, almost 3k dmg, leVel 52, just started hell solo. TIS AWESOME! Nightmare turned into easy farming mode when I changed my build. Thanks again for the advice, will start stacking some vitality now.
*Just added a video of the butcher from HELL difficulty. The builds actually getting stronger as I level lol. Im actually kinda hoping this doesn't work for inferno because iv 2 buttoned my way to act 3 HELL with this lol. Would kinda enjoy being 'forced' to try something else. "Then blizzard nerfs mantra to have a 4-6second cooldown" FUCK!
This looks fun to play.
Would u mind posting your passives and possibly any other info which could make leveling like this even better?
Build info is on the third video. Stacking Dex,Vit,Minimum of 2.00 (2.40+ is better) attack speed, and Life per hit (NOT LIFESTEAL!) and Life % as well, about 20%. And as always my gear is NOT perfect. I could easily get another 200 vit and dex with the right gear, and prob another 200-300 extra dps to. Enjoy and good hunting!
I'm not sure if it works in Inferno. You need every defensive ability you have to survive and stacking attack speed at all cost instead of devensive stats isn't good. But i'm sure you will can find a balance between your strategy and a more defensive way. Act 4 in Hell will test your build and don't skip rares and champions, it forced me to throw away every uneeded offensive ability.
Yea bosses are never the issue, its world elites and group packs. But even then its a great fight and your balls are in your throat the whole time.
Original post updated with a video detailing everything needed for my build (stats/spells/runes) for a full run of HELL difficulty. Video also shows the killing of diablo in HELL mode Time for me to gear up for inferno. Enjoy and good hunting!
Just wanted to say this is an awesome build! Really enjoyed your vids quickshot~
I myself had a monk around lvl 17 or so, and wasn't sure where to go with it. From my experience with my DH, who's in act 2 of hell mode at lvl 55, I know healing is a must have. So your build pretty much takes advantage of the biggest advantage of the game. No other class can heal like monk can.
I was actually thinking of lvling my monk up solely, so I have something for taking on inferno when the chance arises. My DH is fine, but in a long drawn out fight I think DH looses its shine, due to cool downs.
To top it off, this is like the good ole zeal paladin with healing included lol.
So either case I wasn't sure exactly how to to set my skills, just cause I don't have all that you have listed for the build yet.
Watched your most recent video there and I have to disagree with something. You say damage is not important if you never die. While that's true, that also means you won't make it through inferno. I know the title says hell, and im gonna get flak "omg we're not you blah blah blah not everyones on inferno blah blah blah" and honestly that's dumb, of COURSE you're gonna go on to inferno. The ENTIRE game is based arond pushing the hardest stuff to get the best loot. This works great through hell (I used a build very similar), but as soon as you try to do this to a blue/yellow group or a boss in inferno you're gonna get instant killed. Blue/yellow mobs heal themselves over time so if you're planning on running in circles kiting and hitting them once or twice then running til w/e special they have is over, you're gonna take a very very long time to kill anything. And tbh, you probably won't beat bosses enrage timers either. In the vid you said you beat them but no, you haven't, because there are no enrage timers in Hell. They come into play in Inferno. You may beat most of first act maybe, but at only 3k dps (using your vid damage as an example) you might not even make it past the butcher.
