I use the scoundrel with a cold dmg weapon/multishot to slow enemies, entangling shot to slow/build hatred, and nuke with CA. I've experimented with using the bat companion vs shadow power, found SP to be better in general. Main attacks crit for 45-65, CA crits for 150-250. I shoot fast and melt most stuff, no survivablity. I bought a 2 hander with 1100dps and a quiver and my DPS went down. I can't really do Act 3 farming because I die too much to make it viable versus Act 1 runs. I know that 2 1h is an expensive way to go, but when I tried to switch it didn't really work out. The only thing I can figure is my Nat's set isn't really that great and I'd be better off switching to other gear that gives more dex. Any advice is appreciated
Yea nats set isn't that great unless your entire build revolves around using disc skills every other key click. Like the poster above me, a two hander will work a lot better with your CA build, and gettin some IAS helps a lot. I still rock my 100 dex / 7% IAS rings even after the nerf =D
Your build doesn't work too well with 1h. For Cluster Arrow, you want a slow 2H with high damage range, so when you do crit (lets say 200% crit dmg average), you hit like a truck.
Your damage went down because CRIT dmg skews your DPS by a ton. And unless you can just stand there, you won't be doing 60K DPS every second. Give the 2H another try.
I know Natayla set is OP but you still have too much discipline spenders. I would just stick with SS. For Gloom to work effectively, you may want more defensive stats (all resist, vit, etc.)
My recommendation:
Hungering Arrow w/ Spray of Teeth
Cluster Arrow w/ Loaded w/ Bears
Smoke Screen w/ Lingering Fog
Prepration w/ Invigoration or backup. I think Invigoration would be better for you personally.
Caltrope w/ either Jagged Rune or Baited (couldn't hurt to even more insane crit chance) I would prob stick with jagged since you can pretty much spam it
Spike trap w/ Scatter Rune or Raining Vengeance (Flying Strike or Stampede)
Archery
Steady Aim
Tactical Advantage/Grenadier/Nightstalker. I prefer TA but if you want to get more Cluster Arrow off by all means pick Grenadier, the bomb on death is kinda cute. Nightstalker works really well with a high crit chance build which Natayla set can offer.
As always, maximize your discipline on quiver+10, and chest+10 as best as you can. As far as playstyle, I don't know how u play, but stutterstep+kiting w/; caltrope is good. I would not recommend facetanking spamming SS (you're vuln for that .5 sec). You should almost never die unless you have bad RNG if you run with SS/TA and your near limitless discipline.
As other have said id up dex, IAS, and probably a good 2h bow.
None have mentioned anything about the build so I'll give a couple suggestions and explanations.
The generator skill in my eyes is more of a preference and playstyle choice than anything and that one looks viable.
Next 3 look fine.
Shadow Power - Gloom is only really going to be effective if you have a decent amount of defensive stats to make use of it. Without them you are just taking away discipline from Smoke Screen.
Marked for Death - If you are set on using it full time, I'd use Mortal Enemy rune.
Grenadier - I see this as only being viable if you are also using Grenades + Tinkerer, with only taking 10 hatred cost off of Cluster Arrow I don't think it is worth it.
Suggestions:
1: (Smallest) Change Shadow Power to Caltrops - Bait the Trap (for burst damage), Hooked Spines or Torturous Ground for general extra CC (Torturous primarily for extremely fast champs, Hooked for all around) Change Grenadier to: Tactical Advantage (mobility), Vengeance (increased initial burst), Cull the Weak (increased damage, great synergy with Caltrops + Entangling Shot), or Night Stalker (With your very high crit chance and Nat's set would basically be constant Smoke Screen when needed).
2: Pick up Evasive Fire - Covering Fire as a new primary and shift Entangling Shot into your other abilities and change the rune to Chain Gang for CC. Also change grenadier to Tactical Advantage if you wish for synergy + survivability or another viable option.
I don't really have the money to upgrade to a 2h bow right now but I'm willing to give it another shot. I'm not really tied to the CA build, just seemed to be most effective to do big shots and kite around with SS/traps vs faster shots but less damage (and yes I realize that makes the 2 1h setup dumb to be using). Perhaps I'll sell these 1h's and get a bow and quiver, I also dropped a little damage for some vit and AR, which seems to be helping. It seems the 2 1h setup is really only good if you have +Discpline and high dps with a socket, which you need to be Bill Gates rich for. So I'll switch, I was just kind of trying to avoid that if possible, but it seems I'm being foolish in thinking this can work as is. Thanks for all the advice!
Well I have one thing to say. Your not bad, you just spent around 80m or so to get the 2 disc per second upgrade on natalyas, so now your gona have to pay up the ass to make up for the loss in dps from buying all that low dps gear... You could do with pretty much new everything else. With those bows you could upgrade to some better ones even though those are pretty awesome with the crit damage but only 840 dps each... Every other item that you have though is in need of an upgrade other than the gloves maybe... Everything else though should have atleast some dex on it. But yeah... You are pretty rich though to be able to afford that lol... You could also find some other pants with 40+ more dex...
Less rich and more lucky I suppose, the Mark (ring) dropped for me so I went for the set before the patch made it popular. I switched to a 1424dps Xbow with 11% IAS and I'm doing the same amount of damage when crit but shooting slower =\. My quiver is shit though so perhaps it will improve when I'm able to upgrade that. I do notice the Caltrops are more damaging however. You're definitely right about the other pieces lacking, unfortunately(?) I'm just at the point where any upgrade is extremely expensive.
Yea the main thing i see is your dex is way low. I am at around 70k dps with out SS and i am at like 2k dex. To be honest the 2h you need should at minimum have a socket otherwise ur 1h's will probably be better because of the crit damage.

Dex is not really that important, i have 1902 dex and im at 100k dps without SS.
As I said before, he needs a build for DW 1h xbows, not some build which is for 2h xbow.

I suppose OP would also be at 100k dps pre SShooter with your amount of Dex so I wouldn't say that Dex isn't important.
As other's have pointed out the build needs some tweaks, Hungering with Spray of Teeth should work pretty well with your amount of crit chance and crit damage, that skill alone would do wonders.
I would also get Elemental arrow with either ball of lightning all tentacles, because you have nice attack speed and you could spam quite a lot of them before running out of hatred.
If you decide to drop cluster (and you should if you want to keep your current weapon setup) change grenadier into Tactical Advantage, with Nat's set disc isn't a problem and it will help a ton with your survivability.
You may also consider getting caltrops with torturous ground for some help with kiting if Tactical Advantage ans Sscreen will prove to not be enough for some nastier packs.
Even though Shadow Power with gloom works best with nice amount of vit + resists I would keep it, because it helps a lot with reflect damage elites, though there are other ways to deal with them so that's not obligatory.
I suppose OP would understand dex is not the ONLY stats that gives dps boost like you do. Nice try.
Dex is not a set amount of DPS "Boost". It is a percentage... So as you upgrade your gear in stats other than dex your dex will increase the damage exponentially...
Ehem, judging from OP overall stats (with almost zero resist , high crit chance-crit damage, high aspd), I think dex should be a nice place to invest in, 1,500 is just too low imop, a nice boost to raw damage should not hurt anyone especially with dual-wielding.
As for the build, from his sound, I think the OP is much more comfortable to dual-wield than the xbow and I think its kind of a fun build too, so here goes theoryy crafting ;
1. I might suggest using HA with that crit-aoe instead of Entangling Shot, the op should feel like a beast Gatling out those crit-bomb.
2. I dont think Cluster Arrow is a good idea for dual-wield spec since your base weapon damage is the lowest compare to other type of bows, but the skill to replace this slot is still a mystery to me, perhaps consider the crit-centric one or the one which benefit more from the attack frequencies?
3. Also with the same logical sense to number 2, I dont think Caltrop-Jagged Spike will do him much good. Caltrop with Torturing Ground and Hooked Spine may work better for the purpose of kiting? It just suits better to his setup.
To conclude ;
I'm not much of a help........LOL.
The flaw which is really clear to notice are that there are a little too less DEX and the OP are playing the builds for 2HXbow style.
If I were in OP place I would focus more on getting the most out of dual-wield strongest trait which is the attack speed and his higher crit-chance, Im sure there are skills that favor this type of build.
Additionally, Gear-Wise, maybe the OP can try those Crowd Control effects in all his other slot? I mean 5% per slot for 6 slot is huge and I bet those are cheap to find and wayyyyyy more fun to go inferno.
Edited for easier reading and more opinion (works like a patch), sorry for my lack of Engrish XD.
I'm not gonna rehash all the suggestions because most of them are good. I will give one piece of advice...
You can easily upgrade your bracers. The price of good bracers has bottomed out over the last 2 weeks and you should be able to get a 200 dex + vit + resists for almost nothing. I salvaged half a dozen pairs last night better than the one's you're wearing.

Really? I searched for 200 dex bracers with any amount of All Resists and Vit and got 0 results. If you're referring to around 200 dex, then you have a very different view of "almost nothing" than I do, as the price for 180+ the only one with a buyout was 20M (and only three others up for auction). Maybe you are referring to just a single resist?
