15% damage reduction on sentry will be a necessity for hardcore, considering it stacks with other buffs and the range isn't shit.
But you can only have 1 hydra out.
Discipline could go as high as 75 in game I think, so that is potentially like 8 Sentries. Each one doing 20% wpn dmg for 30 seconds. It could definitely do some good single target dps like that. A passive could bring that up to a minute. Aid station could have the sentries heal nearby players for 1% each. With enough sentries that 1% would start to add up.
Where are you getting this info from? I've done some research and every video Ive seen only has 1 sentry out, but I've read the most you can have out at once will be 3. Are you SURE the healing effect will stack with itself as well? Link please.

To Jay Wilson and everyone else: Diablo 3 can be competitive without being an E-Sport.
Too bad sentry is a bad joke...
Why does everyone keep bringing this thing up, though I suppose in group play you might not need your disc for anything else. I just hate this skill. if it brought the pain like hyrda then sure, but its kinda pathetic on paper.
20% is a bad joke but 28% is "bringing the pain"? I don't see your logic here..
But yeah, Sentry is one of the skills I probably won't use..
Lightning Hydra is 34% on 3 heads = 102%
Arcane Hydra is 28% in small AoE on 3 heads = 84% w/ AoE
But you can only have 1 hydra out.

Of course this is like best case scenario on a boss fight.
In single player its probably something you should never pick.
DH will be just as good as the rest of them... all classes have good buffs and the all have good dps, the only thing DH brings is a different play style, nothing more.

There's the only answer. The classes are different in play style, not contribution quality. You won't be sitting your Demon Hunter friend in Inferno A2 because she doesn't bring 5% spell hit, it's a different game.

The skill doesn't say how many sentries you are limited to having anywhere as far as I know.
If they don't stack then its back to being shit.
1% heal is a joke, so you might as well get the 15% dmg reduction.

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
Well that passive is an absolute joke. You can compare anything to that and it would look awesome.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"
There are sooooo many roles that Demon Hunter's can play, for me that IS the reason I want to play one. The countless builds with massive health regen, slows, or even group utility can be customized while in a group setting.

Sentries Probably Won't stack at all.
