Heh heh.... You know... I first saw your name... and thought it was "Pants of the dead" .... and was like "Hey... that's a uniquely original [and redundantly redundant exclamation at that!] and hilarious name! ...... oh wait... >.<"

I like playing HC right from the beginning. I did that in D2 SP right away by changing the setting in the registry. I do the same thing when I play mods in D2 as well. It is more fun facing them when you do not know what to expect.
I hated it when I played online and had to create a softcore character, It was a waste of a few hours of game time.

lol you sir are a real hardcore lol
I don't wanna imagine the sensation of getting a real rare item and then dying because of the lack of experience D:
Hmm.. well i can mule it if it's the case XD
It's better to loose a character then items
I'm kinda attracted by yourplay style XD If you play on b.net maybe we can party up on HC ?
I think I'll start with barb just for the story aspect of it and because some of the new skills they gave him look fun. Based on what we've seen in the first 4 classes, I suspect I'll play the wizard the most in the long run though.
My current expectation for order of playing is:
:barb::wiz::monk::wd: and then repeated with different builds/genders from my first time through. I can't really say where the 5th class will go since I like all four current classes based on what we saw.
Of course, a lot may change once I actually try the classes. I expected the LoD druid and assassin to be awesome and then I found both to be huge disappointments and barely touched them compared to the original 5 classes.
I barely played HC in D2 and doubt I'll bother with it in D3. I just don't like the idea of losing a character. Even if there was absolutely no penalty for dying I'd still hate it plenty. Completely losing a character would just cause me to lose interest in playing the game altogether. I'll probably just be playing SC solo or on their supposed LAN alternative with my fiancee(wife by then).

If I ever do return to battlenet I will look you up.
I never cared if lost good items. To me it is more the challenge and having fun then finishing the game. If the character died then he/she died and start a new one.

I'll be playing HC from the start as well if it is available. As for classes, most likely the unannounced class first, then monk, then melee wizard. I doubt I'll play WD or barb as those aren't my cup-o-tea.
I find when playing HC that I do better when I have more than one character active. With only one I may get complacent or to confident. When that happens I usually will die.

lol why melee wizard? wizards have low hp and defense for a reason!
I actually thought about making a melee wizard, I'm more of a melee person too. But I realized melee for the wizard probably isn't going to look as cool as the monk's moves and such
Take a look at the conjuration tree at the bottom. If the end tree looks even remotely like this one you will both have the survivability(images stoneskin) and the melee damage(this is taking into account that weapon stats will affect spectral blade damage). Should be good times.

Wizard don't have the monk tricks but he have others.
In the conjuration tree we can cleary see a intention in blizz to turn this character viable, wich is enough for me.
Maybe they change the idea and remove those skills. But if those skills make into the final game i'm sure a melee wizard will be possible.
But won't start a HC with such strange character. I'll start with something really cookie cutter like a summon WD. I'm a coward, i' kno.
I'll be starting HC with the 5th unannounced class(that is if it is a ranged bow type, I enjoy the physical ranged archetype of rpgs). Melee Wizard or Monk is a tossup as it all depends on if they make the melee wizard viable in the final release. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be trying it out. Battlemage has always been my favorite archetype in an rpg going back to morrowind.
I'm gonna be the barbarian purely because of the loot. Have you seen that shit he wears? He's nearly as cool as Kratos from God of War. Also, I remember Blizzard posting that when you get sick gear it makes your character look bigger or more imposing...adding to the overall bad-assness that is the Barb.
Same.
I'll make one of each for name reserves but I will prob start with a Barb. Nothing better than AP melee
lol
Barb - some Viking name or some such
WD - Jitters. ahahahahaha! Patent lol
Monk - Bruce Lee
Wiz - Saruman
Ranger (or w e) - Strider

Battle not with monsters lest you become one.
I was really thinking of going this build first cause i thought it would be one that not many would be doing....
Yeah.
Kind strange how people fell in love with the conjuration tree. Still i think the arcane is the most popular one.
