With the new DH skill revamp that now includes Hatred Generators, people are wondering whether Hatred regeneration is still in the game. Here's my take on it.
We know that at level 1 you only have Impale. Impale costs 40 Hatred. If there is no hatred regen, you can only use it twice until level 2 when you get your first hatred generator. This sounds unreasonable, which is why I suspect that there's still Hatred Regen, although I'd guess that it's reduced.

I wonder if they just haven't completed the update to skills yet. The calculator shows 1 skill at level one (Impale), and 2 at level two (Hungering Arrow and Caltrops). Demon Hunters would be the only class to start the game with one skill and two skill slots. I suspect Hungering Arrow will be made a level 1 skill along with impale.
That said, I also think Hatred will regen slowly. The hatred generating skills seem small compared to the cost of the hatred spenders.
All classes now only have 1 skill at level 1 now. The hatred regen still existing is true. Bashiok says that it will still exist, but at about half the rate that it was before. Overall he says that DH should be out of hatred much less frequently.
He also said that the system that has been put in place for regen was something that had been done for all the other classes and DH was the last to get a viable regen system. That makes me more optimistic that extensive play testing has been done on this system behind the scenes and that maybe it's not a knee jerk reaction to the beta play.
Dammit. I really hope the complaints were really valid. It makes me almost not want to play a DH anymore... (imho it sounded more like they needed to tweak the cost a little bit. Now you can predict which skills a DH will use.)

I don't really think so. There were valid ways to avoid the hatred regen issue before and if you want to avoid the regen skills you can. Given the great utility of the regen skills, they are worth using at any time whether you need the hatred or not. This will make it hard to predict which skills a DH might use.
If anything, our the slow regeneration of our discipline pool is the biggest tip off as to a skill limitation. If you vault, then Shadow Power everyone knows you can't vault again for quite awhile. That's the biggest tip off, and none of the discipline skills have changed.
I'm pretty sure Bash or one of the other CMs said:
1. Hatred still regens, but at a slower rate than before (to balance the fact that there are generators now)
2. The DH calculator is currently incorrect. Impale is not the intended starting skill.
I could dig up the blue post, but I'm lazy. It was one made on Thursday or Friday I think.
I'm pretty sure Bash or one of the other CMs said:
