Just curious, does anyone else wish they had stopped their evolution of the demon hunter concept at half human half demon? That just sounds like a possibly much more interesting character than just another human who kills demons.
yeah, I didn't really have a problem with her being half-demon. I thought it would have been a cool twist although slightly unbalanced from the rest of the classes lore/lookwise. Who wouldn't choose the half-demon class.

It's ranged and seeing the arm made them wanna use the arm thus not ranged anymore. I too would much rather have used the arm but it makes sense for their purpose.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
There already half demon half angel...so....... I mean nephalam came from both human and angels so technically we already are half demon and half angel.

I thought the concept team made good points about the half-demon idea: IE that it's very hard to make a half-demon with a huge demonic arm look ranged. It just looks like a melee brawler.
I think the demonic eyes and general style of the current version looks awesome.
The very idea of it flaunts ignorance and half-baked concepts of good and evil in the face of good taste. Just because something's baddass doesn't mean it's an awesome idea. On the contrary, it usually means it's a juvenile and unoriginal idea. There's enough human-demon hybrid crap out there to make my head spin.
Of course, with decent story-telling that would not be an issue. But guess what? We're in the context of a video game being tailored to the widest possible audience. Any such attempt would be inundated with cliches and the class would become a parody of itself.
I'm not going to sit here and say that the concept of the Demon Hunter as it is is a brilliant and original idea, but at least it's not trying to be something unique while failing miserably and falling into the postmodern relativism cookie cutter. She's fun to play and simple to grasp with an easily-comprehensible motive.
I like that all the main class/characters are humans. Makes it feel more like a Diablo game. And I like the dichotomy between the good people vs. the abominations of the world. Makes me really want to party with my brethren to destroy all that's bad in the world of Sanctuary.
