 Well I do get a little expressive with myself sometimes, love making any Diablo-talk, and when the love gets intense, I just gets a little choked up, and caught up in the moment. I try to be as warm, and fussy as I can in Off Topic and General Discussion sector though =P
Yes, but is becomes nonsense if they don't provide a reasonable explanation. Dual self-reloading 1 handed crossbows with the recoil of a bazooka is perhaps a little too much for some people. Give us a damn explanation to the insanity.
Perhaps through a trait or skill description that affects your reload speed, or maybe you'll need a certain trait or skill to activate dual-wielding 1H crossbows.
Well they've said its her class-specific item, so if there was an explanation it could be something along the lines of "Every DH learns to use these at their base in the Dreadlands" but more elaborate.
I think it would be much cooler if she used snipers and lazer guns pew pew.
OH wait the wizard already...
HAHAHHA yes...
In D2 I do not recall the characters actually drawing bows or reloading crossbows... I mean real crossbows are just not viable... I'm sure there's an element of magic reloading the crossbows for you. I mean come on wall of zombies man...wall of zombies...
But aside from that, if it feels like a gun, plays like a gun, shoots like a gun... why don't we just call it a gun and make it look like one?

The Diablo team is very attuned to the theme they want the game to fall under. They spend literally hundreds of hours, and dozens or fully realized concepts just to finalize how a character looks. Every little spike, and curve on every item and graphic is thought out to suit the theme. Gun just don't fit it.
I agree it would look cool, and I wouldn't mind if the DH wiped out duel pistols. Thing is all an all it fits nowhere in the lore, nor theme of Diablo as a franchise.

Well most crossbows require a cranking mechanism to draw the spring back, or you at least have to place the arrow on top. The animations for reloading were at least faster then they should be in D2. Either way, with any ranged weapon you can cast spells (ie Bola Shot and Molten Arrow) faster than you can possibly reload. Which is unrealistic, but it would kinda suck to have to wait for a reloaded arrow/bolt every time you want to cast something. I'd much rather unrealistic reload sequences compared to that.
I was referring to the bow, not the xbow. The bow had reloading animations in D2. Why couldn't they just make reload animations (albeit sped up ones) for the bow and xbow for D3? I don't get it.
From what I can tell the bow has a draw back animation. I don't think we've seen many videos of the DH with an xbow, but all I was trying to say is that in D2 there weren't reload animations but it didn't interfere with the feel of the class or anything. You still got the sense that you were using a bow/xbow. And that it would pretty much suck to have your fire rate constrained by a reload animation. Basically, reloads in general seem unrealistic in Diablo, so its not that big of a deal that you technicall can't reload dual xbows. If you just don't like how they look thats another story.
Laser beams can be identify with superheroes, and diablo 2 characters had the sinister image of someone slaughtering in an almost wrong execution slab of classic demon universe, where silver armour witches moan instantly with a ghost shooting up their chest when you stab them, or else they will run with you, and keep trying to chase you down.

How can it not fit into the theme, when u have assassins and demon hunters who use technology combined with magic, you already have as i mentioned before grenades. When u think guns, don't think modern ware fare, consider style and designs of early emerging projectile weapons, I could easily see them fitting into the diablo world, when stylized accordingly.
Well imo it would just be annoying to hear them going off constantly. Considering how fast the DH fires it would just be way to many gunshots. And even though it might go along with grenades, thats really the only gadget the DH uses thats at all connected to guns. Most of her skills wouldn't really make sense with a gun (ie Bola Shot, Molten Arrow). Also, the oldest dated gun is from somewhere around 1250, while grenades date back all the way to the 700s. So they're not really as connected as you might think. Its considerably harder to design a firearm that doesn't blow up in your face than it is to fill a ball with explosives.

Damn you sir and your reasonable logic, you have convinced me.

Just look at this vid of a Zon using an xbow in D2. She's pretty clearly just pointing and shooting. No reload involved.
