I'm working on a couple of DH builds and am trying to match the right Legendary Gems with the gear/purpose. Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.

I have full gear plus ancient weapons. This is a Strafe/RoV only build so I use active abilities and health globes for hatred regen. This DH is only for farming DB/GR Keys in groups. I don't need to go above GR50 but want to kill things efficiently in T8-T10 rifts. Currently I'm using the following gems...
Pain Enhancer, Taeguk, Bane of the Trapped.

For this DH I'm running Leonine bow of Hashir with Buz cubed for piercing bolas. My rings are F/R with Hunter's Wrath and Depth Diggers for extra generator damage. I use Bolas for damage/mob control and Multi-Shot to keep the F/R buff up. My goal is to solo GR50 with this toon if not higher. Currently my gems are
Bane of Stricken, Bane of Trapped, Simplicity Strength.
Any suggestions on how these toons better or different Legendary Gems to try are greatly appreciated. - Gelk
I suspect Bane of the Trapped / Cull the Weak probably aren't worth it for the first build. Your only real CC is from the follower (though, if the armory templar skill layout is correct, you don't have any of the templar CC abilities chosen - intimidate and charge) and you're supposed to be moving around really quickly, probably too quick for him to effectively CC anything. Most times I usually see wreath of lightning / boon of the hoarder in that spot, if just for the movespeed.
I don't think the second build can really compete with a standard UE multishot build. I know some variations use the cold bolas / cube leonine but pretty much purely for the CC aspect, where you're focusing a lot on the primary skill damage. Plus I don't think there's a strong UE multishot build in existence that doesn't equip yangs, it's just too strongly synergistic with UE. That said though, it looks like fun. Those gems are probably pretty solid for it.
For the first spec it was my understanding that the aura from a Rank 25 - BoT was enough to activate the bonus. Since I keep my targets close I figured I was safe there. That said, I swapped out BoT for WoL and will see how that works. It seems pretty nice so far.
For the second spec, I understand that it's much weaker than MS with Yang's but I really like the synergy between Bolas/Leonine/Buriza/Emimai's Duffel. The fact that the Cold Bolas can pass through a near target, hit on a more distant target and then activate the pull from Leonine's Bow is really nice to pull mobs from close up and pull them back to range. My goal for this spec is GR-50 solo and maybe GR 55 with a good group. If I can do that with this spec I'll be happy.
-Sadly(?) Yang's Recurve outdates everything - even an average normal version is so OP that I had to abandon my new found juicy ancient Kridershot along with any other UE options.
-No one seemed to care back then, even though I tried to indicate in several posts that freezing bolas along with NV6 set works great.
-You can try using Calamity as OH, cube Leonine, Equip your follower with Ess of Johann, and spam freezing bolas during downtimes.
-Just make sure that the Sage set pieces have optimal stats and rolls because you are sacrificing huge dps to be able to equip them and ironically it effects the time spent to achieve the main purpose. In other words; if it is taking longer to kill champs above a certain treshold, I would rather go max dps and run TX.
