I'm looking to show a bit more love for my Crusader. I know I need better items, especially boots (this was from my Firestarter build ... sigh) and getting trifecta gloves would be ideal but Kadala doesn't want to give me any. My sheet CDR says 55.18% so there's just a slight delay on keeping Akkarat's Champion up. I don't remember if I maxed out my paragon points since I was messing around last night. My current profile has my gold farm gem. I'm currently seeing crit numbers in the 19-20 million and I'm just looking to do more damage. I've haven't got good luck with a physical SOJ that has crit, cdr and socket, so I decided to use a ring with crit damage and cdr and roll off the cdr on gloves to crit damage. I do have an SoJ that has physical damage (15% I believe), but has dex and life regen. I'm wondering if that would help me more than the focus ring that I have now. Any suggestions on improvements would be greatly appreciated. Just looking to do more damage in T6 to farm more efficiently.
I have hit a wall at GR 27-28 with this setup: any advice on where to upgrade or change the build? Obviously a furnace would help, and I'd like to get a more functional amulet. I'm trying to gamble for better gloves and boots, but wondered if I was missing something. I'm also trying to upgrade the swiftness gem to 25 (at 21 now) to get the CDR (currently at 45% with paragon)::
What should I improve on? A single horse is critting for 27-29 milllion. Seems kinda low?
Thanks!
EDIT: I mostly do normal rifts. CDR is about 55%. I think the main problem is my Stampede dmg.
Single biggest thing you need to do is take all of those diamonds off of your armor and replace them with rubies (excluding the helm of course). Otherwise looks like you already know what you're doing.
In a word, everything. Not trying to be a dick, you have some of the pieces for the build however there are several things that you need. For rings you need Unity/SOJ either naturally rolling socket or max cdr. You need Furnace (STR/DMG/CDR/SKT) or Heartslaughter, furnace is bis. For a shield you'd want STR/CDR/CC/Phalanx damage. Helm should be Akkhan, STR/CC/Phalanx/SKT.
Chest legs should have all resist instead of the armor, look for a chest with secondaries that reduce damage from melee and ranged attacks. As far as secondaries go, you don't want gold find or + exp at all. Resist rolls, Health globe healing bonus and pickup are much more powerful and are often over looked.
Ammy should be a legendary, Phys/CC/CHD/SKT is bis for phalanx, but STR/CC/CHD/SKT is fine. Your overall goal should be getting to 56-57% cdr, 60% physical damage,65% Phalanx damage followed by as much crit/crit damage as you can get on your gear. You don't end up with a lot of room for cc/chd so the rolls that you do get need to be near max. Hellfire ammy would be bis, followed by an immunity ammy with the stats mentioned above. Ess of Johan/Eye of Illich make for good equips as well, just make sure to try and target close to your character when using the ess so the pull will benefit your pain enhancer secondary.
Passives are good, active talents for gr should be: Phalanx(stampede), AC: Prophet, LOV: Unstoppable,Iron Skin:Steel Skin, Steed Charge: Rejuvination/Endurance, and Provoke. Shield Glare can be subbed in for Provoke if you prefer. These are optimal for T6 as well, there is enough cc/buffing in parties between witch doc's, crusaders, barbs and monks that you should only need one cc. Phalanx stampede being that one ability.
The diamonds in your gear need to be Rubies, highest cut.
For T6 farming you can go with a Travelers Pledge/Compas Rose combo instead of the yellow/bkb ring you have, leave leoric's as is or search for that gg soj I mentioned earlier. Leg gems for leorics can be Bane of the trapped, Powerful, Pain enhancer. These are fine for T6. For Greater rift Pain enhancer, GOGUK(if below cdr of 56%) Bane of the trapped. If you get 57% cdr explore other gems beside Goguk. Good luck and happy farming : )
Thank you KaiserQwerty and especially raziael1 so much for your helpful feedback!
Feels good to have a better idea of what I have to do in order to progress gear wise.
you need phalanx shield for phalanx build. you need bop for condemn build (slightly more so than the shield). jewelry needs socket. belt is fine for regular rifts. roll shoulders to %skill or cdr.
I don't know what direction to head with what I've got. I know "you should play the way you want to play" but I've done that for a while now and would like to push further. Anyone have any ideas for what I can do short term to start heading in a better direction with gear/skills?
For the first season of ROS, i have decided that i did not want to do like everyone else's build and decided to make a "Firedin" (a fire blessed hammer build) Since crusader dealing fire damage is not as popular as the others, i have been struggling on finding adequate equipment for this build to work. Cam's rebuttal's sword has been a big asset in dealing massive damage and DOT all the while i cast blessed hammer.
In the end, i have fun using this build but i wish to have the community's opinion on how to improve this kind of build.
To note that i am currently grinding for a lidless Wall shield (that will give me 20% fire dmg, crit hit chance and res. all) and a better ring than rogar's huge stone.

It appears you are non-season. It's cliched, but if you are really looking for the strongest build, you'll want to go cookie-cutter. For non-season, that means a Stampede build. http://www.diablofans.com/builds/1905-detailed-guide-gr37-best-stampede-build-hyper
For that build, the shield is critical. Also, for any build, 56% cooldown reduction is big. This allows you to have Akarat's Champion up 100% of the time. A Leoric's Crown is a huge asset for getting the CDR. A well rolled (95%+) crown essentially doubles the 12.5% CDR of a diamond. To wear the crown, you'll need the Ring of Royal Grandeur from Act 1 bounties.

I guess the crown is the secret piece I've been missing to get to the 100% up-time. Not having the extra life from the purple in the helm feels like it's going to kill my survival, but I guess I'll make it work somehow.
I think I'll start pushing towards this for now - it's good to have some sort of direction, even if it is considered "standard" or whatever, so thanks.
I apologize if I implied hammerdin can't go above T4. I merely mean that in the context of EZ-mode farm for T6 rifts and Grifts 25+. It can definitely do them and might be fun for you as long as you know that it isn't as fast or as efficient.
I went through different Phalanx build for the crusader. I've got the 6 pieces bonus from Akkhan, got the shield Unrelenting Phalanx the 2H flail Baleful Remnant and event the ring Eternal Union that increase the duration by 200%.
So with all that I can't come up with something nice just need the build to go with it. (i've tried the stampede build but was more like... meh.)
Anyone has an idea ?
EDIT : I did try some mixing skill with related fonction to the Akkhan and Phalanx and more dps in general and was kind of cool but not "I-farm-T6-and-murdered-everything" kinda cool...
I am using a ponysader, I have done grift 36 but still waiting for a templar relic so I can use unity. Also awaiting a ramaladnis for the furnace.
Other than that anyone got any tips on min-maxing it a little?
Switch Mirinae to a Gogok of Swiftness for more CDR (Mirinae proc rate is not so high anyway for Pony build), also the amulet is not a lot of help, as you anyway try to be out of reach with sader build. Try to get a Phys/CC/CD one, even CDR on it wouldn't be bad.
You got a really nice Furnace, I wonder what you rolled to 10% DMG... It would be great if you would have had CDR instead.
Judgement you can replace for Shield Glare: Divine Verdict and see what works better for you.
Hey guys, recently got back into D3 and I've finding myself capping out around 30Grift, seem like I should be able to push further and I can't tell if that's because I'm undergeared or under skilled
That's my character, I always run with Templar for the heal/resources. Currently spamming rifts to try and level my Legendary Gems and waiting for some decent Ancient drops.

Sorry, no suggestions, but I wish you the best of luck. The best Hammerdin build I've seen is only recommended up to T4 is his guide.
