I feel like I have hit a brick wall with my crusader and in terms of damage output, feel like it is fairly weak. However, when looking over other people's stuff, I can't seem to figure out what exactly that problem is.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me get on the right track, as I am stuck at T3 without really being able to progress farther it seems. I appreciate it, thanks!
There are a lot of items you can upgrade. You helm could be an Andariel's Visage with 20% holy dmg, 6 crit and 15% blessed shield damage. You bracers have extremely low stats and could have 20% holy dmg. You can get better rings and an SoJ with 20% holy dmg. You boots could be much better with str vit all res and 15% blessed shield dmg. Your weapons dmg can be higher. You cloves should have crit dmg over attack speed.
That being said, these aren't thingsyou can just get in a day, it will take a long time and some good luck to get perfect rolls and the exact items you need.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/rui-1619/hero/43832231 I was in the exact same situation as you are in a week ago. Farming T3 but could barely do T4 and not doing it fast enough. I did not just give up and start blindly doing rifts after rifts hoping for the crusader set to drop, which is a very very low chance. So I decided to find a sure way to steadily improve my crusader. The only way I could think of that does not involve too much RNG is crafting sets to get bonus against elites stat. So I started farming for the RoRG, I farmed it on T1 doing split bounties, you can find people to do 2, 2 splits if they find it too hard. I decided to do T1 because along the way, I could get some legendary upgrades as well, and I could kill stuff quickly anyways so I don't want to waste my DPS on normal(I had about 400k dps back than) My suggestion, farm your Ring of Royal Grandeur, then start crafting sets. I'm pretty sure you have at least two pieces of blackthornes laying around. The 3 set bonus is actually quiet good. Look for sets with 3 set bonuses and then wear multiple sets on your char to get the best combination. Good sets to start with: blackthornes, aughilds(even useful after you have your akkhan), asheara's(the set bonus is good for defensive, so you can go offensive either on your other items or with your skills), captain crimson's(usefull even after you find your akkhan, somewhat a mix between offensive and defensive), demon's (I really like this set because of the area damage read here area dmg explained). I also see some people wearing cain's but I have no idea why. I have not crafted the born's set as of now, because I'm not farming forgotten souls fast enough. As you can see in my profile, I have 4 different sets on my Crusader, all of them have both 2 set and 3 set bonuses. Especially important is the blackthornes and the aughilds. The reduce and increase damage against elites is so awesome in T4. The hard part I think is mix and matching the sets to get the most effect out of your RoRG, the ones I have on is the best solution for me so far.
Lastly, don't give up on your character and especially don't bend your knees to RNG, there is ALOT of RNG in this game but at your level right now, you have the resources to farm those crafting materials and start building your character so that you can transition from T3 to T4 and T5. I think at T6 we as crusaders still have to use the akkhan set and that set is complete RNG, but at T4 and T5 you have a much better chance of gettting that endgame set.
