okay so heres a thought for a build i have, havent played the beta or anything so this is pure speculations
but my thoughts went like this
first of with punish i gain 15% block change, plus i have 15% block chance from hold your ground, that's 30% block chance right there
plus with a good shield you would get another 27-33% block chance that would mean i would have roughly 60% procent block chance on each attack.
This in hand would mean i would expload alot from the punish rune causing continues dmg to my foes.
also i would rapidly regain helth due to renewal. also as a precation and party purpouse i have 2 more healing skills. one for me and one for the party.
that dose dmg -> heal and heal -> dmg
also for the law i chose the 100% increased critical hit dmg in order to combine with bombardment and the rune that gives each hit 100% crit chance.
and i chose heavenly strenght in order to boost weapon dmg in order to increase dmg from the punish rune and the shattered ground rune.
if you can't see the passivs i chose they are heavenly strenght, iron Maiden, Renewal and Hold your Ground
Lemme know if im way out in space on this build or if you think it might be vaiabel.
Here is my post over at Diablo 3 site on a Hammerdin build.
I might change out the Law of Valor Rune to Invincible for the Life on Hit if I start taking alot of damage. Also I will mainly be playing in a group environment with a monk and wizard so I think this spec. Might work well if the synergy is there. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/crusader#beVifQ!aZSi!YZaZbb
This is a high output Blessed Hammer build that I want to play around with that is based on Attack Speed.
-Zeal is a builder with increased attack speed.
-Blessed Hammer and main damage ability with the Thunderstruck rune for extra bit of dmg.
-Steed Charge for quick movement out of bad situations plus dmg/knockback
-Condemn for the big burst damage with the rune to release immediatly. Hopefully will scale well with 2h wep.
-Laws of Valor for the passive attack speed as well as activation for 15% attack speed. Used rune for 100% critical dmg.
-Akarat's Champion as a major cd cooldown for Attack Speed and Wrath Regen. Rune for the 50% chance to reduce the CD of other abilites by 1 sec.
The build would work like this (in theory) on Elite pack:
With Akarat's Champion up:-Charge in with Steed Charger-Pop Akarat's Champion
-Use Condemn
-Spam Blessed Hammer/Condemn (if it comes back up with rune from Akarat's Champion)
-Akarat's Champion fadesWithout Akarats' Champion:-Spam Slash to build Wrath.
-Blessed Hammer spam-Condemn off CD-Repeat
The point of the build is to build up as much Attack Speed as you can and use it as a way to regain health back to negate the damage. Swaping between Invincible and Critical Rune for Law of Valor depending on how much life on hit you will need to be able to stay alive.
Optimal Stats:
Attack Speed- This will be a top priority but obviously not as important as Str. We will be using 2h weps so the faster you attack the more dmg you can do and the more life back you can get.
Life on Hit - We are using attack speed as our friend here to regain health back
Anything with Blessed Hammer dmg would be extremely nice.
Note: This is all just speculation and the obvious issue of this build is the lack of defensive abilites or passives. There might be a couple changes that could be made but the overall goal is to regain health by attacking fast enough to regain it and using blessed hammer as your main ability to stay at bay.
I guess until people have tried stuff, they're not willing to comment on something. Which is rather wise.
I'll play, though. The build looks interesting, but as does everyone, I've got my own preferences. I'd use Shield Bash over Sweep Attack myself. It seems to be the companion of Punish and a high block shield. I've never been a fan of heals, either. I guess that comes from my Barbarian background, rather than the numerous Paladins posting here. As such, I'd skip Consecrate and defensive skills as a whole, and pick another utility skill: Phalanx.
The Law skill might be where I'd go defensive, instead of offensive, and pick Laws of Justice. Unsure about that though, it would all be down to what gear I loot. As for the final skill, I remain undecided. Falling Sword and Champion of Akarat seem the most appealing to me.
