This isn't intended to be a dick measuring contest by any means just curiosity.
I managed to do 41 solo last night with 5 and a half mins left on the clock without using Unity.
I pussed out and took the gem option (43 token was on offer) so I don't think I've pushed my char to the limit yet, wondering where you guys think it might cap? And what's the highest you guys have done with no Unity?
I can solo a 46, but not clearing higher is simply a lack of DPS for me(ie: my weapon sucks ). I have no trouble surviving. Have done a 48 with my friend and his Wiz, had no trouble surviving that either.
Suggestions for your gear. Dump Cindercoat and Magefist and run 6P Rolands. You need that extra speed to proc the 2p set bonus faster. This in turn provides you with more uptime on Glare, Iron Skin and your Law.
It's hard to tell if you re-rolled anything on the BB because the profile viewer doesn't always display correctly. If you haven't roll that vit into LoH, it's much better, especially with the speed bonus.
Your skills. Punish - Roar is useless and it steals your BB's 30% damage bonus from blocking. Instead go with Fury which gives a significantly better bonus of 15% crit chance.
You definitely want Prophet. it's a huge bonus to toughness and a cheat death.
Speaking of which drop holy cause for Indestructible. It's another cheat death and gives you time to either get free of danger or deal extra damage(it gives your 35% boost remember)
Finally, I'd switch to the Laws of justice - immovable object. It provides more resists which is always good being a melee char and gives you a huge armor boost.

Thanks for replying.
First point on the Cindercoat/Magefists - How do you keep the wrath starvation issues at bay without Cindercoat? I find I struggle when I use the 6pc for Rolands. It pumps my wrath super quick.
Blood Brother I rolled the Damage range so no LOH is gonna be possible.
Good point on the Punish rune, I'd never considered that!
Yeah the Akarat's Champ rune was obvious, even to me but cheers.
Laws of Justice - It might be a matter of preference (from my side) I'll have to try it.
Fun story - Last night I was messing around with my condemn crusader in a 40 solo. Killed the RG. Deciding on the gem to upgrade and I DC'd. fml
It's all about positioning with Shield Glare. Roland's crazy attack speed keeps it off cool down and you want to hit as many monsters as possible. Sometimes, you just have to skip some mobs when there isn't enough of them or they aren't worth killing by themselves. This can also be beneficial later on too as if you get surrounded you can use these stragglers to dash out of the crowd.
Also remember that Roland's also buffs your generator's speed too. So against single or few targets when glare doesn't help as much you can fill your wrath pool to around halfway easily before the Roland's stacks wears off.
Hope that helps
Update on my grift clear without unity, just did a 47 yesterday
i made the changes suggested and managed to do a 46.
was particularly proud of the fact it was a 4 player game.. I fucked up and started the rift when I was supposed to decline so I did it without my Templar
i think I should be able to do around 48-50 then that'll be it for no unity
I am going for the another way, String of Ears, Unity + CoE, and the 2 new defenssive leg gems. I only have a regular Furnace (non ancient), and my CoE is only 187%, so I have room to improve, but I did a 45GR yesterday with 6 Roland pieces and had some free minutes... I am still leveling my gems (lvl 45 atm), so I am not in a hurry... (sorry for my English).
P.S. Fire Shield Bash with 200% Damage brazers, of course

(Any critique on my gear is welcome, I always strive to improve him)
EDIT: Akarat Champion rune is probably the first thing I can change, 41 worked with Fire Starter but I'd imagine Prophet is better)
I did 52 without unity. F/r and sb crumble..

cleared 52 on my tal wiz without unity, pushing 54-56 atm, so i guess it just comes down to rift type, and gear /build setup.
