If you roll the CDR to % on the old, it is still less dps than the ancient, if you roll it to str. On top of that, you gain vit and area damage.
As for str or +damage roll, you will have to check your stats. I think you can get 1250 str roll on it. So, if you have less than 12500 total str, 1250 would be more than 10% damage, being better than 10% on weapon. If you have more than 12500, a 10% damage roll would be better.
As for putting it on a wiz, I don't think furnace is BiS, from all I read serpent sparker is better now. Same on WD with SMK or DoD. So having an int furnace is not really gonna help you.
PS: I don't know much about crusaders, but I saw a lot of them go with all res gems. If you would roll 10% on it, you might consider taking off area damage, and keep the int, as that equals 125 all res
If you only have one gift how about waiting for next item to appear? I personally have very very hard time finding a gift as well. I mean what if your seldom use wizard drops an ancient serpent tomorrow?
Hi all, I'm looking for some weapon preroll advice. I'm playing a pretty typical Fire Roland Shield Bash build.
I'm currently using a regular Furnace with the following stats:
3392 DPS
1268-1545 Fire damage
1028 STR
5% IAS
CDR 9%*
Socket via Ramaladni
The CDR is the reroll, and is still there from recent switch from Stampede build.
While playing around on a seldom-used Wizard (of course), an ancient Furnace dropped with the following stats:
3821 DPS
1815-2178 Fire damage
1250 INT
1237 VIT
24% Area Damage
I have one spare Gift to place a socket.
Options:
1) Stick with current Furnace, reroll CDR to +Damage
2) Use new Furnace, reroll INT to STR
3) Use new Furnace, reroll INT to +Damage
4) What are you talking about? Use that baby on the Wizard where it belongs!
I only have one Gift, and I have a devil of a time finding them, so I'd rather not waste it on "try it and see mode".
TIA for advice

It is an ancient Furnace. I had an extra Gift drop this morning, so I'm doing something with this thing.
Trying to decide between replacing INT with STR, or keeping the INT and rolling AD as +Damage per RiffSphere's suggestion
