For the first season of ROS, i decided to build a fire damage blessed hammer crusader (or Firedin if you prefer)
I have managed to complete the set of Akkhan and i am doing fairly good in T6 or Greater Rifts considering that the build is not perfect at all. However, i feel like i have reached a point where i am un-sure of what to remove or how to improve this kind of build. Since there is not a lot of gear that allows a boost of dmg in blessed hammers, it is hard to pile up good, steady damage. As of right now, i am roughly doing 10mil of damage per hit and close to 18mil when i am using Akarat's champion (firestarter). The sword that i am using (cam's rebuttal), allows me to hit up 60-80mil damage whenever i crit and also does DOT which can be quite useful (plus i think that falling sword and blessed hammers is a good combo).
So here i am, asking for the community's help on how to improve a fire damage blessed hammers build. No i do not wish to use horseys or condemn build as they are too popular to my taste...besides...i like a good challenge.
Please give me your input.
Note: I am grinding for a better shield (lidless preferably) and a better ring than Rogar's. I can also switch out the helm of Akkhan for the boots if need be (although i would need a leroic's crown for this)
Ever think about rolling more jewelry sockets on the neck and ring to utilize the additional strength from the Finery passive as well as the awesome bonuses from epic gems? The Gogok gem you have is nice, the attack speed + hammers = A LOT OF HAMMERS FLYING, so I back the attack speed for the hammers builds. Other gems would be the Pain Enhancer (lvl 25 you get a attack speed buff) and Bane of the Powerful for the general damage boost. You can also maybe experiment with Shield Glare + Bane of the Trapped, great for crowd control and added damage.
Hey Thank you for your response, Yes i wanted to upgrade my ring and eventually my amulet although if i wanted to change the amulet i do not really know what i should remove for the bonus? (maybe crit hit chance since i can add them from paragon) i will definitely try the pain enhancer in the next ring with socket i will grind, or since i am using either provoke or shield glare, i may try to use bane of the trapped also.
I tweaked my build yesterday removing the breastplate of akkhan and replacing it with my good old cindercoat, i am also using maximus as a weapon for now those added fire damage bonus makes me cast blessed hammer for roughly 20mil (plus all the DOT i am doing) i have however lost a lot of toughness (from 15mil to 10mil) so therefore i die a little bit easier (only when i have arcane beams hitting me or other major damage elites such as fire chains)
I will now grind for a better belt and better bracers (but the fact that i am immune to stun and knockback effects makes it hard to depart)
Any suggestion on the gear for belt and bracers? i am surfing the net but am not sure what is the best
The popular belt is the Vigilante belt, which has cooldown reduction on it. That is the "go-to" for most Crusaders at the moment. How is your cooldown reduction? I think between 52-56% is kind of the range most people look for. Also, your current ammy is pretty good minus it not having a socket. Ideally you want Crit Hit Chance, Crit Hit Damage, elemental damage or strength and then the socket.
Also, the Maximus is probably one of your best choices for weapons, so I'd totally stick with it (unless you find a Furnace or something). How is your overall damage with this build? If you are ripping thru T6 Rifs I'd say you could maybe sacrifice a little bit of DPS for Toughness (put Diamonds in your pants and add about 150 all res, remove the 11% movement on boots for armor, etc.) The other thing you can do is try the Prophet rune on Akkarats Champion, but that might REALLY gimp your DPS. ORRRRR get two unity rings, one on your follower and one on you and that will reduce all damage taken by 50%.
I really don't know about bracers. Maybe somebody else can weigh in. I know there are a few legendary bracers that can be crafted. Maybe craft some and score an Ancient Legendary.
To answer Mike1990, my CDR is roughly about 36% at the moment, i am working on getting it higher, i may have a vigilante belt somewhere in my stashor i'll just grind for a new one, they drop fairly easy on me for some reason. i think it would be the best choice for a replacement of a belt.
I will tweak the boots, i can always add movement speed from paragon levels if i wish (since i do not use Steed Charge i like to have some running speed to be able to catch up to most people!) this will at least provide me with a boost of armor or RES.All.
With the tweaks that i made yesterday to my gear, i now do a general of 20mil DMG (without counting DOT from consecration and other Buffs) but like i said i have less toughness so i have a tendency of dying a bit more often but those can be arranged over time. I also have a good 2 handed-sword (cam's rebuttal that deals fire damage) that i could use if i need to have more toughness and healing (Greater rifting for example) at the cost of losing 19% fire damage. (either that or i change the armor?)
So a better belt, a better ring, an ammulet (eventually) change the bracers (for sure they are my next priority) should hopefully allow me to reach 30mil at some point
What would be best for the ring in terms of stats? i'm thinking CHC, CHD, STR, CDR, Socket.

Cheers and thanks in advance!
But this is just my opinion.

Just throwing some ideas out there.
