Trying to make the most of what the build is intended to do. Rend dealing triple dmg means 2 rend stacks now deal 6x of what 1 rend used to do. With some elemental damage items it has high potential for us

From my understanding the set + skull grasp should work like:
340%*3 + 440% = 1460%
Since skull grasp states to increase whirlwind by 440% weapon damage and not by 440% and they said it would be addditive to the setbonus.
Since you need Skull Grasp + Unity in solo play, there sadly is no possibility to use hexing pants and as BartekSWT said, you will also need a pride of cassius.
I should test if it is possible to WW infinitely with BK set + weapon master. If so and if + WW damage from skull grasp and Wastes set affects the WW from BK set, I think this should be the best option for this build.

It's bad for many reasons.
Hard Facts first:
1. Using Lamentation:
Group grifts - is ok only with very strong CC tank like WD. Otherwise you need Cassius for defence.
Solo grift - you really need Cassius
Speedrifts - Chilanik's Chain will benefit you and group much more
It's generally very questionable to use with this set because you wont have enough fury to spam Rend twice on every group of mobs and especially when you want to use rune other than Wind Shear.
2. I'm not sure if any rune other than Wind Shear are even viable for this build to work without generator. Maybe it's doable
with Superstition, Unforgiving, Weapons Master (with mighty weapons) and resource cost reduction. Assuming it will work with all those it's still completely subpar to Wind Shear.
3. BK ring - For solo you need Unity as one of the rings and Skull Grasp as second so no room for BK ring. For groups with WD tank BK ring is still subpar to SoJ.
Assumptions:
4. The only other element that could compete would be physical with BK swords. Proc on that set scale with physical and I heard it is also affected by +% Whirlwind damage in gear but I can't find any proof for that. Other benefits of physical element is that Bloodshed's explosions are also physical and both WW physical runes are really great ( one for damage and one for healing )
5. Assuming worst scenario that set and Skull Grasp bonuses are just +% Whirlwind damage (well it would be great scenario if BK Oath proc would be affected ) then +10% increased damage from Rend is also additive to it. +10% on top of +740% is almost nothing.

I think blood lust rune on rend could make a comeback. I wish that the BK swords setup would work out. Always liked that set but never actually managed to utilize it successfuly.
I think if it would be like you suggest, then the description on Skull grasp would say "increases whirlwind damage by 440%" but instead it says "increases whirlwind damage by 440% weapon damage", which leads me to my conclusion.
Anyway: even if it is like I said, it should still be worth more than a soj dmg wise.
If you compare 3*349% + 440$ = 1460% to 3x340% = 1020% you get a flat 43.1% increase on all whirlwind damage dealt. And this is on a secondary slot. I doubt that the elite dmg and ele dmg (which use up a primary each) on a soj make up for this.
Only thing I could imagine to be worth it: take RoRG and use Hexing Pants instead of the Wastes Legs. Could be worth it if you need the ressource cost reduction and utilize other dmg sources than WW aswell.
Im pretty sure the ring is additive with WW but the Wastes triples everything. So it would be (340%+440%)3 = 2340%. That would make the most sense from the wording on the ring and the set. I know Yang said otherwise, but I think he was just unclear in his meaning or reading the question.
Well I was talking about lightning build with helltrapper in which case you set 3 traps by yourself and 2 proc from helltrapper.
Sentry has 6 sec cooldown. I assumed small amount of CDR that will cut it to 5 sec.
First sentry you set at start
Second after 5 sec
Third after 10 sec
Fourth and Fifth should proc within those 10 sec as well.

Helltrapper has a chance to spawn 1 of the 3 spells, not all 3 at once. So you are still incorrect in that timing assumption, because from all my lightning DH friends and from my own lightning play they said it is very unlikely you get 2 sentry procs in the window you are talking about. RNG is RNG but it is more unlikely to happen than happen.
The problem with this set for me is the Fury. How are we gonna keep the fury up? Honestly i think they need to change the ww ring to some fury booster, because if they dont this set is gonna have the same problems as the Roland set for the Crusader.
That is not right. I did a 44 G rift and i wasnt one shot and i only had 25 mil Tough. You are either lying or exaggerating. Plus i heard g rift dmg will be lowered.

2. Shouts give you extra fury
3. Weapon master+ mighty weapons
This+ a build paired with other generators.
you won't be able to keep berserker rage up without IK set...but yea. I have no idea how are we suposed to farm other than T6 with this set.
Still wont be enough fury. Ive already tried this out on PTR(Can still test without the set)
the rend build, melee, will be epic fail, and a very minor change wich won't be played as much as expected, if they dont make a range biuld also for barb with boulder toss, weapon throw, avalanche, inf cota and threat shout barb will remain as it is, weakest and dumest class since ros apperead

Sorry but this is one of the most ridiculous posts coming from you lately... Anyone has the right to comment on any class no matter if they play it or not. the barb currently has different stuff going for him; They need to balance in a build that can compete with Raekor to provide an alternative, They have already announced the WW set, There seems to be a direction in which frenzy will be made more viable, etc... All of these do not coincide with a ranged build buff right now. There's absolutely no reason for them to concentrate on buffing barb ranged abilities when the melee based ones aren't fleshed out as good as other classes for an example. I mean, the only viable barb build right now turns you into a crazy machine charging around, don't you think Blizzard would want a build that is a bit less mobile and has a bit more diversity in terms of skills used? i.e WW+Rend? I think it makes sense. As i said in your other thread, buffing the barb's ranged abilities does not make sense at the moment if you look at the meta game of this class.

When crypt of the ancient farming with hota + rend was a thing, it was a build that you would probably call good melee but since then the mob dmg scaled so high in relation to toughness that it's no longer possible. Not to mention the underwhelming damage output of skills like hota.
Again, go on live, set difficulty to normal, choose whatever skills on barb that look the coolest and you will get something similar to this trailer. smfh.
Until dev address 1 shot kill (melee, element on the group), melee is useless. Just look at FC barb, charge into element and die, without even being hit. This is why melee sucks.
