Hey guys, finnaly got my hands on the last piece for set and now im trying to figure out the build, but i have no idea how earthquake is now calculated. I saw Rend dmg changed, no idea on EQ. I understood crit hit is very nice to have, but what should i pick between cd red (30% atm) and crit dmg?
Just to pick up the question from OP an get a bit more detailed:
How is earthquake affected by the damage stats like (1) crit-chance, (2) crit-damage, (3) attackspeed and the (4) offhand weapon?
Does 1 & 2 increase every tick of earthquake (like rend)?
Does 3 increase the amount of ticks or does it increase the frequency of ticks?
If 4 does not affect earthquake but 3 does, then it might be good to get a fast weapon with high stats (and DPS doesn’t matter).
Please give me some insight
Earthquake ticks are affected by CC and CD so that is good to have. Attack speed does nothing for EQ - does not impact frequency of ticks. Earthquake considers only the damage from your mainhand weapon; does not factor offhand damage, but you still get other stats from an offhand such as strength, cooldown reduction, crit damage, etc. Some people like to use Maximus (2 hander with +fire% and firechain), but most people tend to use 2x one-handers b/c there are many good choices (ie. devastator, sankis, thunderfury, born's, etc.). Hope that helps.
Don't over-think this too much. Leapquake is really easy and fun--even at high torments.
Sunkeeper is VERY good good due to the up to %30 Elite damage and slow atk speed + high damage.
Shields are also an option if you can get good rolls and really need the defense. We should petition Blizzard to allow non-Crusader shields to roll CDR and 30-50 crit damage or something. That would make them a lot more viable.
I'm currently soloing T6 with ease using Unity. I need to get my +Health Globes, +Life per Kill up and also find a way to get my CDR up (probably dropping Strength somewhere eventually).
Leapquake is way more fun to play with 30-40% CDR.
