The idea is that it would allow me to use my Ice Climbers while keeping all the curreny setbonuses, while waiting for the last pieces I need to get the last setbonus from IMK/MotE/Raekor's. My overall playstyle is very much get into the middle of everything and grind them down with CC.
I havnt gotten the BT belt from Kadala yet, but the questions is basicly: Am I a fool?
As to the use of 2 spenders: I use HotA in smaller groups/groups where I need the rune-cc. I use WW when there is more of a lawnmower-situation and I need the fury. It is also used as a repositioning-tool.
Thank you for replying! You are actually wrong, the set does protect you from the explosion aswell, that's a big part of the reason I want it. The ice climbers are self explanatory. It's the idea to stand in the middle of all and just wreck stuff that I like. It nullifies a lot of the more annoying spells. I also have the Kull-aid pot. If I could get the amulett that removes arcane dmg all I'd have to worry about is really fast and Fire chains.
I'm dying to get thundergods belt, while I got BT belt after 1000shards via kadala, then it drop several more with doing bounties/rifts.... I still did not get thundergods belt!
If you're not playing Hardcore, I'd take the damage of Thundergod's over Blackthorne's 4-piece bonus. Honestly, ground effects generally seem pretty weak to me in comparison to old Inferno mode, for example. If you have Whirlwind or Leap or Furious Charge, you probably shouldn't need Ice Climbers or Blackthorne's 4 piece 90% of the time.
If you're trying to build a set to ignore every affix and just pound away, I can respect that. However, from an efficiency standpoint, I'd personally opt for higher damage and just practice reacting more quickly to ground effects. I used to die to elite affixes a lot when I was just starting Inferno and used HotA as my spender, but these days I think I'm pretty good at just avoiding them, especially since I switched to WW in 2.0 (when Birthright lost its ability to knock treasure out of things).
Then throw on Arcane Immune Ammy. That's Jailer and Beams out the way (stand ON the beams, they heal you ffs)
All these immunities would be good for a standstill build. Throw on those healing boots too (40000lps) and you're laughing. I'm thinking sleet storm wizard, or firebats wd, unfortunately for firebats you will be wanting other set bonuses though
