Are you bad at hitting things? Does it hurt when things hit you? Are you oozing with team spirit but lack the skill to decapitate the undead and demon alike? Maybe it's time to join the Team Arreat cheerleading squad and show the world that team spirit can carry you a long way!
Now you might look at the build and say "That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen, please go sit on some nails and stop wasting my time". You have a point there, but let me explain the build first with an overall look and then skill by skill.
Gameplay: The main thing here is your team (Call of the Ancients) and the new set bonus from the Immortal king's call(Call of the Ancients last until they die.) . Your job is to run and jump around cheering your team in the road to victory with all the shouts and occasionally remind the enemy team that they fight like little girls. In short: run around in circles cheering while the team brings home the victory.
Call of the ancients:
This is the main ability, summon your team. Immortal king's call is quite necessary to make this work. Equip your bros with fiery weapons for the extra oomph. War Cry:
Give me an O! Give me a P! According to my calculations this increases the team spirit by 43%. Wrath of theberserker: For those clutch moments in the overtime. Threatening shout: Make the opposing team look foolish with puns and rhymes. Battle rage: Pretty much guaranteed 20% faster somersaults. Sprint: If you're going to run around and do nothing for the most of the time, doesn't it make sense to run around doing nothing at a 40% increased speed? Science. Passives: If you're ever going to beat that bitch Sandy for the head cheerleader spot you need to have an inspiring presence, the other 2 don't matter.
Final words: Now i know at first realizing that you're not really good at demon killing can be a disappointment, but as soon as you accept the facts and join the cheerleading squad with the right attitude you will feel like part of the team again. With practice, hard work and determination I'm sure you can make it to the regionals this year. Here's my team fighting the skeleton king on t6.
While the video garnered a sensible chuckle, it's fun to think about all the different skill builds the IK set opens up, simply because of the 3 piece.
The 3-piece IK set: if I'm understanding it right, makes it so all Fury Generators give another 2 fury? Can you verify?
In theory it should affect Superstition, Call of the Ancients' Ancients' Fury rune, Whirlwind's Wind Shear, etc., getting you nearly limitless fury with. And, because of the rest of the 3 piece (the life per fury spent) near immortality.
Yes the 3 and 4 set do seem quite game breaking in a sense, at least for soloing. The 3 set is actually 2 fury per second in combat (which out of combat means you don't gain nor lose any) and the 4 set with the "ancient's fury" rune you gain a ridiculous amount of fury. This combined with the "relentless" passive and the boulder toss is quite hilarious. Since the boulder toss uses all your fury, even when relentless is active, the heal per fury spent pops me back to full every time and you're pretty much unkillable.
What i do with it is spam frost seismic slams (gear giving 44% cold damage) while dual-wielding with hilarious speed with no fury cost, though that build and the 3-4 sets would need their own thorough thread. In short here.
Thanks for clarifying the Fury Gen, still incredibly powerful, especially if it were stacked with Animosity.
I'm torn on Relentless; 36% is still low enough to get spiked to dead, though rare. I'm still swearing by superstition for Fury Gen; if you have the toughness or healing to stand in a plague pool or desecrator, you can spam Seismic Slam nonstop and heal up from damage done (if you still have an old life leech item) or form Life per fury spent.
Still no IK pieces for me; just a pipe dream for now.
I've been lucky enough to get 2 pieces of the new IK so far, and want the 4pc for my Lightning build as well. Having ancients up 100%, regardless of build, is a massive damage boost! Lightning rune means you take 50% less damage (split among ancients) at all times, and of course Fire rune is tons of damage. As soon as I manage to find the other 2 pieces, I'll be able to jump from t4 farming to t6 without an issue. I'll probably still focus on high damage for the barb, though the video was entertaining to watch!
All of those skills affect the minions. Also when you have that rage in you, you cheer better, that's just science.
If you already didn't get it this was nothing but me messing around figuring out the best way to kill stuff without a single attack in the build as a barbarian, tweaked it a bit with more gear and killed skeleton king while being afk (sleeping beauty build™).
There's quite a bit new out of the box ways and builds you can do now, which i hope will pop up more in the expansion after skorns are gone.
