I would like some advice on my barbarian's Gear and Build. Been playing WWs mostly (and yes, I tried dual weild but so far my Skorn is getting better results) but I would have no problem about changing my build if that proves to be more effective. MP8 is a walk in a park so far, but MP10, well, not so much... Any help is apreciated.
Yeah guys, I read everything that you guys told me, and used the little money I had (around 80m) to make the best out of the ideas. I went with the Rend WW since it sounded cheaper and safer to invest, and got the new Skorn/IK-Belt. Happy to say that I just finished Act3 Farm with no deaths from quest 1 to last. So yeah, I guess MP10 is done, thanks to all your tips. Fitsu's info about the freeze Scoundrel is awesome, I really recomend it. Yet, with not a lot of gold left, I have a few questions if I may:
About my Mempo, yes, I don't have enough money to buy another one atm, so, before I go with the IK-Helm, can one of you tell me if it's really worth it? The 4-5% melee resistance is on par with the 79 all resists I lose? (And, for my budget, between 5-7k + DPS with an IK)
Also, since I'm at it already, i'll be at 4 IK-Pieces if I get the helm. Is it worth it to get a 5th piece (probably a substitute for the Ice Climbers) ? Is the set effect's EHP+ and Fury Generator worth a try?
Sadly, my money is almost gone (or maybe i get some luck and sell some stuff till tomorrow morning, who knows?) so I supose i don't have much room for trys, anyway, any advice is apreciated and, as best as I can, followed.
Thanks again.
BTW, I went from 35k HP and 222k DPS to 49k HP and 229k DPS following you guys' tips, without losing anything.
The only change I had to make was using "Bloodthirst" instead of "Tough as a Nail" since I lost a lot of Life Steal after I changed the Skorn.
Pretty standard stuff.."Ok" damage, "ok" resists" ..Low hp as is usual these days. The reason why you're failing at MP10 is because you're using war cry instead of rend. Critical rends will make you able to keep the rage flow higher and berserker won't drop off.
Personally trying a different approach than the run of the mill whirlwind spec..which to me just doesn't feel like im actually killing stuff..it's more like im ice skating over the map.
http://eu.battle.net...2235/hero/63096 ..I know..load of people will go "aww..but that spec must suck..well..it works for me..and i don't have to be afraid when the Berserker nerf that is announced arrives..Then half the barb community will have re-gear for more hp/resists (And yes, i know..loads of my gear pieces can be improved aswell..no need to comment on that..working on it =)
It's been agreed upon by many many people that have done the math that for ww dual-wield is far superior, while maybe showing less on-screen damage everything else will be better. It looks like you're on a budget so I would go with a MH Mace/OH EF, then get ure 2.51 aps breakpoint with zerker up and u should never have fury problems.
It's defiently a good idea to get a SoJ, the "+% dmg to elites" gives more damage per % than crit chance when fighting elites, +6% cold damage slows them to make the EF fear less of an issue while giving a nice damage buff, I recommend getting a 6/30 before focusing on what skill is on the ring.
Oh, another thing is theres something people call the "mini-CM scoundrel" or "freeze scoundrel" where u equip him with a buriza-do kyanon (priority is pierce chance > freeze chance), star of azkaranth (get highest freeze chance u can) and then some ias/health/resistance rings n stuff and basically coupled with his multi-shot he can freeze entire packs while u just mow them down.
Those are three kind of factual, mathematically agreed upon things but something I personally feel is if ure on a budget running IK belt + LS EF (for 5.5 - 6% LS) lets u drop Bloodthirst for Tough As Nails which is a HUGE survivability buff and as ure only aiming for 2.51 bp u don't need that much ias anyway. It also lets u roll some rare gloves which you can get a really nice pair fairly cheap due to most ppl going for IKs so overall you lose next to no actual damage and gain a massive buff on survivability.
this is my barb - http://eu.battle.net...502/hero/125749 running the ideas given and as you can see my fury is so easy to maintain i don't even run bash anymore, he can do mp10 blind folded and all for a fair budget of around 1.5b.
Hope this helps I spent quite a lot of time researching when I geared my barb
/e if you consider doing what i've recommended and dropped the wh for ik belt and skorn for mace/ef you would need to obtain 33% ias without wotb, which means that when looking into rare gloves you want atleast 8% ias.
/e also just noticed ure running war cry, I would say run overpower with killing spree instead, +10% crit chance is insane and if you have what i've recommended you would have gained nearly 100 resist and 1000 armor so you don't need that war cry anymore.
My comment for dual-wield has no source, it's just what I found when gearing my barb and I didn't mean it for specific routes I meant it just for general play. If your just casually playing which involves a balanced mixture of elites + white mobs dual-wield would usually give higher output. On top of that i've tried running a build with less ias and a 200m skorn and it just felt so much weaker than the setup i'm running now, for me the barb I showed above is able to do mp10 fairly quickly with fury/health that basically never moves and at a considerably low budget and from what I could tell from the OP this is what he wants, he wants an all-rounder something that can do every type of run at a decent level as apposed to doing one thing exceptionally well but bad at others.
For Rend yeah, Skorn is the way to go. But I prefer to go WW/Hota as its much better for elites and ubers, so dual wielding is superior. All I do these days is DE farming and ubers.

Greed1337, with the items I have atm, I'm doing a bit of everything (didn't tried uber bosses mp10 yet tho) but it's a hard time, gotta pay a lot of attention and so on. One way or another, I'll think i'll get a overall build, farm some gold, and then work on a stronger one. Once more I should thank you, and everyone else, for the advice.
