So, tell me what this "math" is proving besides the obvious fact that millions of rares are being created each day?
The maths is that out of all the elites killed and the rares that drop, a few may be good and others meh, yes i get that but no offence but it seems your causing an argument and being a little bitch over nothing.
There was an example shown on loot, everything is loot based to progress yes we know this - the rng is stupid on the loot but thats what it is, farming and playing the game is how its meant to be done, the percentages for the drop quality has been improved, may still give rubbish loot but - salvage them or attempt to sell them for a diff class.
Those of us geared, will fine the adapting to the new patch easy and kind of lol especially act 1
But really, your complaining over? - im guessing your angry with the new changes for whatever reason but, you've hijacked some ones thread to bash a poster over an example of some possible maths and a formula.
Someone needs to go back to bed and realise that every piece of loot that drops in game has a use, salvage, vendor, equip it, sell - the use of made up numbers to show an example may not be accurate but it makes you understand the possibility of the new loot system and that all this loot isnt going to be handed to you.
D2 was like that and so is D3 - this isnt wow or some other shitty game where everything is handed to you; You gotta work and earn your items, dropped or bought.
thanks, flame and QQ away but your post will be irrelevant yet again
Yesterday without the patch. i could farm goblins etc. with MF gear on. no problem at all.
Now i can't even kill the damn goblin (with only DMG gear no mf at all) the fucker just gets away from me.
My dmg (on demon hunter) is nerfd soooo hard that it's not viable anymore. yeah funny i can take 2 hits instead of 1 but how will that help without any dmg
Now i can go and buy new items for my character, just so blizzard will nerf those stats in another patch... I'll bet next nerf comes to crit dmg /chance
This patch is idiot and the 50% ias nerf is just way to much.
Seriously DH QQing about not being able to kill goblins (calling you on overexagerated lie), when as a tank barb you had zero chance to kill one unless he would get stuck in some corner.
Just don't use it if you don't want too? At least that's a feasible option now that ilvl 63 loot drops off Acts I and II.
Regarding the updated damage, Blizz quoted it as
Act II = 33% reduction
Act III and IV = 44% reduction
Interestingly though they've thrown a few enrage timers in now, i doubt i could beat Belial with his new 3min enrage in my survival gear/skill set. I've used to just bludgeoning him slowly to death.
Yeah I just barely beat Belial with my highly defensive build before he enraged. I think I had 10 seconds left when he fell. First try he did enrage and let me tell you... you don't want him to enrage.
And I'm dual wield build so it's not like I had a sword and board... if I did he would have enraged easily.
I think for the next couple weeks.. high DPS weapons will be priced higher than normal until the inferno barbs are all geared up. I know personally I'm saving up for a 900+ dps weapon. These 750/785 dps swords I have just are not cutting it.
I believe what Blizzard did for melee's in this patch was just right.
As a fairly avid player I made it to inferno like 3 weeks ago, but that wasn't fast enough to take advantage of the cheap AH items that I would inevitably need to get through Acts 2,3, and 4. Before the patch, I was able to down Belial with all the tank gear that I've amassed doing Butcher runs and playing the AH. But now, its like night and day. I did enjoy the challenge of not being able to take on two packs of elites at the same time. But I also didn't like having to kite shit for a stupid amount of time either. I rerolled a DH less than a week ago because I wanted to see how easy things were for ranged peeps. Now I think I'll go back to my Barb and experiment with some new builds. The end game was never meant to be played as a tank with just a couple of interchangeable abilities. This is the game that I've been waiting for. Except for the stupid high prices of repairing your equipment... >.>
Yea, I kinda feel the same way. I was debating whether I should spend 12 mil yesterday to get a new chest for 300ish more armor, 12 more str. 2% more life. Now, what's the point? I'm not gonna die, I can clear everything fairly quickly as well.
horde/molten/vortex phasebeast pack kinda destroyed me but most of the other stuff was just a breeze. Golgar's are a joke now compared to what they used to be. I kinda like the change to nephelem valor makes clearing a few bosses and champions in between a nice run.
I'd estimate the damage in Act 3 at below half of what it was Monday. This is way more than I thought Blizzard would be willing to do. I'm not the most geared Barb in the world but I'm pretty happy at where it is right now. I work full time and have been playing Barb almost exclusively since release so with the amount of time I've put it I think I should be able to do all of the content. I was barely surviving the hard pulls in Act3/4 on Monday but yesterday I double pulled a pack of Invuln Minion Golgors and some other gold mob and it was only mildly challenging in tank spec.
I've since spent a bunch of money on DPS gear and I'm having a great time downing everything! I actually feel rewarded for my efforts finally.
The point of the game now is - max out your DPS like a boss, sell items on the RMAH, and have fun running your undergeared friends!

You must have a difficult time reading because I didn't try and start an argument with anyone until I was told to "stfu and stop qqing" about shitty loot that drops in an easy game. If you would read my first post it says two things: The game is too easy and good loot never drops. You basically echo this sentiment when you say "the rng is stupid on the loot" so it seems to me like you're the one trying to create an issue out of nothing. That time of month?
I'm raising an issue with the changes because terrible players ("especially act 1" rofl) can farm loot and get lucky drops (seems pretty WoWlike to me) while those of us who were already farming A3/4 prepatch are lawling through the game to find even more shitty loot. All I'm saying is they need to remove sub-60 drops from the later acts of Inferno because the 60+ loot has more than enough chance to suck already. If you take issue with that, then... have fun farming act 1?
Anyway, back to farming because good shit has to drop eventually... right?!
