Hey guys, theres so much info going around atm about Inferno builds I thought I'd ask about whats a good build for Hell?
Gotta finish Hell to get to Inferno
I notice just about no one uses Earthquake, this for me is what I use to melt gold elites providing thier kind enough to stand in it for me and not move away.
Also Cleave is my main nuke combined with Frenzy and Battle Rage gives me good dps.
My current dps at lvl 44 unbuffed is 2116 and 18122 health.
I havent got any resist gear/stats purposely yet as I've read several times thats more for Inferno.
Naturally more is better and I'am sure you can never have enough but is there a happy number that is both achievable and effective for both Hell and Inferno?
A friend at Inferno has around 600 resist and he finds it not brilliant but better than melting on the spot.
So any help with a good Hell build would be greatly appreciated.
I've found with other classes what I consider to be good for me isnt always the best options for that class so I have to change to something that I'am unfamiliar with but does a better job.
Higher dps/survivability is always good it just has to mix with playability as well
As an edit I did try Wrath of the Beserker and found it more than helpful.
I was able to go mobile instead of stationary with Earthquake.

Ta mate really good advice.
If I lose Cleave and solely use Frenzy I'am not going to lose any dps?
Are you able to link your build Bier and what res. numbers do you have?
What passives do you use?
Edit..I actually got rid of Cleave and went with Revenge, between adding Wrath and making Frenzy my main nuke the dps I have seems to be better used.
Actually its awesome
i went with this build http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#bZViYP!ZYc!aZcaZZ
for bosses i switched in frenzy or bash instead of cleave depending on my needs (since you are not 60 you dont loose anything when switching skills)
especially for trash ground stomp + cleave was redicilously effective
dual wielding with like ~500 ish loh and some ias
selfbuffed i had like 14 k dps (without wotb) used enchantress for the buffs
pretty much a glass cannon all the way, mid vit (roughly 25k hp) but lots of strenght 1k+
had a lot of fun back then for inferno is switched to sword n board, dual wielding is probably still viable but gear requirements are insane...
I still cry at night and hope for the day i can switch back to dual wielding
I agree that you shot not need 3 defensive passives in Hell. I did not see if you were using a shield or not but if you are then you should definitely be picking up Berserker Rage.
You can also always go the Seismic Slam route if you have a nice big 2H lying around. I've even seen some people doing Inferno with it and saving money on resist gear although there are many elite affixes that will kill you in that build IMO.
I really don't feel Charge is super necessary in Hell mode and find Overpower to be more fun especially if you've got good crit. I think you should be pushing damage as much as possible before you hit Inferno and are pidgeonholed into either the tank or cheese builds.
Lastly Ignore Pain is great on paper but I will always see Leap as superior. It basically adds as much protection at Hell+ armor levels but its 4 of every 10 seconds instead of 7 of every 30. Additionally you can use it to get around obstacles, for example, I like to play jump rope with arcane lasers! And as attractive as Ignorance is Bliss is, I found that Revenge was healing me for way more than the 20% life steal.
Hey guys, I did factor Beserker Rage in to replace Superstition but apart from that I'am amazed and how much everything now melts.
Same dps just used more efficiently.
I've also read a few people are using Relentless as a passive for Inferno, is this a must?
Fare84 did touch on a very good point though, what is the best weapon combination to use?
This seems to be an argument on every class forum.
I thought a 2 hander would be too slow but they do seem to have a high dps number.
I never really thought about dual wielding 2 weapons so I dont know how practical that is from a dps point of view.
I know you get the 15% attack speed bonus so maybe thats an option.
Although with the new patch that may change.
Personally I went with a one hander and shield for dps and survivability.
As I've gotten most things wrong so far this might be a good time to ask what is the more preferred option for weapon dps here?
Lastly resist. numbers for Inferno, just hit Hell so not quite there yet but planning ahead.
Anything over 500 for resist all is ok?
Naturally more is always better but is 500 a good starting point?

well, it all depens on your personal playstyle, i played dual wielding because i loved it and because single target you have an insame amount of self heal with loh
since all abilities use weapon damage as base a 2h weapon will make more dmage per use even if dps is equal to a 1h, for abilties with no restrictions this does not matter, so here the increased atk speed is an advantage
for abilities with a cooldown or other restrictions like fury spenders, 2h tend to do more damage...specially for earthquake or ancients this is the case.
my main damage always came from cleave/frenzy/wotb so dual wielding was the way to go. If you are more into whirlewind or other fury dumps you should go for a 2h
(personally i always switched back and forth while leveling depending on what weapons i had =))
furthermore (haven't calculated that yet but i assume it holds true) dual wielding profits most from ias, 2h from crit/crit dmg
damage wise dual wield was also very nice (my personal perception) burned most bosses down before they could do anything (switched in war cry for bosses, hit him/leaped in/ground stomp, battle rage, build up rage wotb, war cry = 100% rage = insane dps)
edit: in regard to resists...well you need to balance out armor / vit / str / resi all ... with snb i finished act 1 with 500 resi all (don't forget war cry + impunity rune), 36k hp, 8k armor and 3k dps + 3k from enchantress (that was really low and made it a pain) ... and also 700 loh which made bosses a cakewalk
Thanks mate, another good point about your resists comments was balancing out stats.
Right now I look at strength first then life on hit when available.
Otherwise I look for life regen or more vitality.
I'am assuming I'am going to lose strength to balance out for resist all, does that sound about right?
I dont see anyone with a high amount of strength and resist together.
Actually I think thats where I fall down, in my mind every piece of new gear I get has to have more strength in it than the piece I'am replacing as strength is the primary attribute and other stats are secondary.
I spent a fair bit of gold tonight upgrading but only got an extra 200 dps out of it compared to a lot more armor and about another 7k health plus more life on hit.
So i was trying to think outside the box in a way, well my way anyway.
I'am just starting Hell today so should be up to Inferno by the weekend so saving my gold for my lvl 60 gear but want to make sure I get it right stat wise first.
I did read somewhere last night 700 resist was good for acts 1 and 2 in Inferno and over 1k for acts 3 and 4, does that sound right?
On another note is Leap really worth having over say Furious Charge?
I've never really used it, only in the early levels and never again since, but I see a lot of people use it in thier builds.
The same goes for War Cry over Ignore Pain.
I love Ignore Pain but again War Cry with Hardened Wrath for now and Impunity later seems to be what people are going for.
Are both these just personal choices or is there substance to actually pick one over the other?
